Dr. moved to a different area of practice, and nurse had been thoroughly disbarred/decertified AND banned from ever practicing medically again. Nobody walked out of that court room a winner.
But then, I remember that he *is* an old man, and that informs his worldview and behavioral patterns.
That doesn't mean I can't still rant about him here though.
Yeah, that's the thing that sucks.
My partner's brother died young as well, leaving behind a son and a bit of a legal mess. For him, it was straight-forward cancer, without a dirty knife pointing to someone who should have known better.
And yet, it's the same result. Great guy who isn't around anymore, and I miss him. I guess the only advantage is not having the bitterness of humanity's stupidity involved, so I don't have that extra baggage.
Now everything in the hospital is done on the computer, all reports, order and what not must be entered, logged and NOTHING moves forward until the doctor hits "submit" When my mother was working the doctor signed the paperwork at the nurses station and spoke with the nurse. Now the nurse, or any other doctors do not have any information until the doctor takes the time to submit. Good for accountability, bad for the waiting patient.
My mother that went to Urgent Care a week ago, has been in the hospital since Friday. Very long story, but nothing moves... and that nothing moves even slower on a weekend.
Did you meet his brother, Aahz? I don't recall that.
But, yes, his brother died about three years ago. That is indeed the person of whom I speak.
Not to take anything away from k's sister, though. These sorts of things suck for everyone.
Ohhhh, no, I remember that now, I think.
You drove Girthta's then-husband (now ex-husband) to his grandmother's house on Long Island.
At least, that's who I think that was.
Melvin/Robert's grandmother died long ago, and owned no property in Long Island. Their other grandmother owned property in Shady Side, but she died a while ago, too, and Melvin has ownership of that now.
But I do remember Girthta's now-ex-husband having visited his grandmother there.
He is amazing that way, yes. He's too good a person for me, but I'm thankful he's there.
Code Monkey get up get coffee

With the understanding that this question does not in any way diminish my sympathy for your loss...
How does a dropped scalpel have any significant impact on the surgery for a post-rupture appendectomy? Isn't the entire environment septic to begin with?
HomeBrew, why the hell are you compiling python3 from source?!?
Sorry, did I say that out loud?
(Well, he *might* have said it out loud.)
I managed to get Node.js working on Windows and Linux via npm without too many issues.
That I got it to work in Windows feels like a minor miracle.
I don't think I'd try to make it work without something like npm to deal with the installation for me, though.
