Thing is, this is code that the contestant writes himself, and manages to make the first two test cases (where adequate information is given) pass.
But test cases 3 through 8 are all hidden and obscured, including any errors produced. No hints at all, except for "Doesn't pass." Like, what the actual ....? Unless you're writing code for Mars landers and Pluto orbiters, you're simply _never_ going to be put in a coding environment where this is representative of reality. Never.

Sounds like a game of Mastermind.

But, frankly, who has time for that when you can find jobs with real problems to solve.

TIL...about "tactile paving", bumps and groves on the side walk and in the streets to help blind and visual impaired people navigate.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdPymLgfXSY I always thought it was for drainage, wheelchairs or to prevent ice buildup on sloped sidewalks.

TIL: "Sussed." British English. Contraction of Suspect or Suspicion, depending on use/context. Today, most famous use of the word is probably from The Who's Tommy album ("Hey you gettin' drunk; so sorry, I got you sussed!").

Nice, As a Who fan I had tried finding out the meaning of that word a long time ago but was unsuccessful.

Subject: TIL spoilt is a confused word

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

After seeing the word spoilt on a shirt I decided I should examine the etymology.

It seems that my understanding that

'spoilt' is an adjective,

and that 'spoiled' is an inference

Is incorrect.

HireRight is incompetent. While trying to do a background check on me, they literally tried calling a company which (1) *I* said was out of business, and (2) their e-mail to me said THEY REACHED, and (3) their phone support rep said they could NOT reach, therefore the onus of proof was on me to justify my claim.

Now, I can certainly do (3), but I'd have to talk to the bank to do so, and I really don't want to do that. But, what the actual ?@$%( are they thinking when it comes to their end of the argument? Total retardation.

TIL you cannot call a sub-class's virtual function from the parent class's constructor in C++.

I feel I should have known that, but I don't think it's immediately obvious until you think about it.

TIL that there are two completely different dishes called "Chicken and Waffles" that are completely different from each other, except for the fact that they both contain chicken and waffles.

In a similar but completely different event, earlier this week I learned that there are two practices called "Agile" that are kinda-sorta related but the practitioners of each variety each think the other is completely wrong.
("Hippie Agile" vs. "Southern Fried Agile")

Maybe Trump will regulate all chefs to conform to a standard and put strict rules on how dishes can be prepared and named.

There are a few styles of agile development.

Supposedly, the corporate-friendly one is named 'DAD', for 'Disciplined Agile Delivery'. I say 'supposedly' because I've been trying to practice it, but this corporation keeps resisting it.

*shrug*
