https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disciplined_agile_delivery

I guess it's somewhat new-ish, having been around since 2012, I think.

I've been reading up on it, and it makes sense to me. It's really, well, common-sense stuff, described in a language that ought to please managers who don't really have common sense.

Heh.

Agile in general hasn't been around for 17 years, has it?

Agile has been around at least as long as Extreme Programming has, and honestly, some earlier practices like "Spiral" methodology can be considered agile by today's standards. For that matter, the guy who coined the waterfall model, in his classic paper on the subject, actually was arguing AGAINST waterfall and for "agile" methods. But, waterfall stuck ostensibly because those reading the paper never got past the first two pages of the memo.

Just on a fluke, I decided to install Gnome desktop on my Ubuntu machine, just to see how different the UX is. Today, I learned that it has absolutely no impact on the "converged" user experience that Ubuntu was trying to shoot for. My dock's background color is different. That's all that has materially changed.

TIL.... that the local Adult World has a A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau.  I am interested in the problems, how they were resolved and all the people that rated the business.  Then again maybe I shouldn't wonder.

I was looking up used bookstores, for some reason Adult World was in the list with a BBB A+ rating.

(I'll discuss Agile in Programming, I think, rather than cluttering this room with it).

Today I learned that Kmart opened in 1899 as S.S. Kresge Company and renamed to Kmart in 1962.
