Well! You gotta trust someone, so you might aswell trust yourself, and vote for the the gal or guy with the best haircut or the whitest teeth. Someone once told me to judge people by a quick look at their shoes, and this would be number one on my list, after a FirM shake of the hand and a stare in their eyes -  if the cameraperson would oblige. :)

I know that evidently Russian women look at your shoes first, your watch second, and your face 4th. 

I'll let you guess where their glance allegedly lands 3rd.
