It looks like they just scraped our web site and didn't even bother learning about it.

We'll ask them to revisit after the new web interface is done. Honestly it's a bit dated right now. The new one will wow everyone.,

I sort could understand them pushing it down the list a little if they were reviewing 'groupware' and comparing it to modern interfaces only and not functionality, but it was 'email servers' and that is just fine and up to date and easy to deal with unlike some of those on the list, so should be higher up.

i am having so much trouble with novnc with proxmox 8.2. i'm so

frustrated.
i can't find a solution to open a console for installation of a vm. i

can't figure it out? i have been messing with this for hours now and i

dunno? I CAN'T GET IT TO WORK!

I think they had eample scripts in the documentation for use with SPICE.

Worst case set a serial console for the VM and ssh into your PVE host and open a serial session (also in the documentation).

But really, Real Men don't install using a console or a VNC session. Real Men use Cloud Init to automatically deploy their systems.

Real Real Men use orchestrators and crap and stuff like Nomad or Kubernetes monstruosities.

Unless im experimenting, i tend to use FAI which is automated. ( tho i use iso image, not got around to putting it on pxe since i dont build stuff often )   But if im experimenting and such, a console is a good thing. But i have never had any issues with it working here. Having console to know when FAI install is done and ready to reboot, is a nice thing, but not 'required'   One could just wait a while, then reboot it from the PVE interface. ( or command line, for IG :) )

The one exception is if im running GUI stuff, but then id be using spice anyway, not no-vnc.

I didn't know of FAI. It sounds like an ok thing to know about.

Nowadays I just Cloud Init and then run a configuration manager against the new system because having to build a new image for each thing you deploy is kind of meh.

FAI isn't anything you cant do on your own, but its quick and easy to use it instead of building your scripts and such by hand. Just feed it the package list you want on top of a pretty small install ( not truly minimal tho ) and, poof, a bootable auto installer iso pops out the other end.

Great for lazy people like myself.  Or if time was limited.

And you can bring it all home and build the stuff locally so you dont have to use their online tools.

Remember time is money and it makes management of your infrastructure

I know that can't be true because my time hasn't inflated by 50% or whatever we're up to now over the course of the Harris/Biden administration.

Hmm Canadian cargo rail shut down at midnight. Union contract related stuff. No paranoia here as this stuff happens, ( so didn't stick it in that room ) but it will impact both us and them if it goes on for long.

Well, that  is a sad story:

"Two Engineers Trapped on Top of a Wind Turbine Set on Fire, Hug Each Other for the Last Time

In a heart-wrenching incident, two out of four maintenance engineers were stuck on a 67-meter wind turbine generator. Both engineers, standing on top of the burning turbine, hugged each other for the last time, knowing they were going to die. The more heartbreaking part of this story is that both engineers were just 19 and 21 years old."

One jumped, the other stayed to be burnt alive.

The real badass way to go would be to catch on fire and then dive flaming from the top. Gotta have some of that James Bond action.

Possible terrorist attack in the Bronx.  Or at the least a criminal action with explosives. "person of interest" still on the loose.

Watch your back folks..

"Disney pulled from DirecTV"  "and almost nothing of value was lost".     I'm guessing the greedy, agenda pushing, mouse isn't wanting to agree to DirecTV's contact terms.    want .. more... money....

Walt and Roy are spinning in their graves about now i'm sure, with the woke mess its become.

I do believe that Walt would be horrified to see the disgusting company that still bears his name. Zombie Walt needs to come around and dispatch them.

DirecTV is another giant, though. It's owned by AT&T (another company that has little to do with its namesake, the name having been acquired). Carriage disputes happen all the time, though.
