Amazon private carrier "HILLARY will be delivering your package"
Um, not sure i want what she brings..
I feel bad for the astronauts stuck , but it is funny, yet another Boeing disaster :
"It looks like NASA officials might be seeing the writing on the wall for the very troubled Boeing Starliner, which has marooned two astronauts up in space for almost two months due to technical issues.
An unnamed "informed" source told Ars Technica that there's a greater than 50 percent probability that the stranded astronauts will end up leaving the International Space Station on a SpaceX Dragon capsule, with another unnamed person telling the news outlet that the scenario is highly likely."
I hope they have to pay the bill for the rescue.
Why do i keep hearing the Gilligan's island intro music?
Sun Aug 04 2024 18:02:33 EDT from IGnatius T FoobarEveryone knows that Boeing's quality control has taken a nosedive (pun intended) and it's because their hiring practices have shifted away from merit. Starliner is the biggest and most visible disaster yet. And now those poor astronauts whose "one week" trip has lasted for two months have called Elon for a Space Uber. :)
By the way ... here at Awesome Acre we had our first, and thankfully very brief, power outage since I moved the servers back home earlier this year.
So those of you here on Uncensored might have experienced a small amount of downtime. Just a few minutes.
As I mentioned in another room months ago, I do want to put a battery on the server eventually. I deliberately built a server with a single 12VDC supply input for exactly that purpose. But the power here is normally so reliable that it's one of those things I never get around to doing.
The router and fiber terminal have a battery, and they survived :)
Which always bites you in the ass. "it never"... then it does.
Glad it was not an extended outage, it makes life rough, unless your generator can run the *entire* house ( mine does not, just essentials ) and you have an LG gas supply line. ( mine can run on natural and propane too and i have all the regulators to do it, but its more effort and gas lines hanging outside, so that is in the box 'just in case' petrol becomes scarce due to extended power outage, or if local gas stations got destroyed by a tornado. I can always pull the feed to my water heater and run it to the generator, if i had to )

Glad i don't give a damn about sports. If i did, i think the so-called Olympics would be pissing me off greatly.
wtf
children acme over. One is a 5 year old great grand child. He bought a movie on DVD " can we play this ". Um, well i guess so, not been turned on in years..
Ya, it worked. 20 freaking minutes of commercials.
Wouldn't be surprised if you could have ripped and encoded it in less time than it took to sit through the commercials
Most likely, ya. Never dreamed it was going to be that long.
Its no wonder people pirate today. I remember going in late to movies in the theater ,just to avoid the nonsense .

Wife is 8 years older. She started early. One daughter also started early, as did her daughter.. so its not quite as 'bad' as it sounds.

i can't find a solution to open a console for installation of a vm. i can't figure it out? i have been messing with this for hours now and i dunno? I CAN'T GET IT TO WORK!
laugh. i started with a c64 like in 82 or 3 sometime around then. it
was total madness back then. it was beautiful!
There was a sort of organized and beautiful chaos back then that cannot be found anywhere now. The cool kids ruined our playground.
i am having so much trouble with novnc with proxmox 8.2. i'm so
frustrated.
Always remember ... proxmox is training wheels :)
Its a bit more than that.
Remember time is money and it makes management of your infrastructure a lot easier and cleaner. Especially when you start doing clustering, fail-over, ceph, VM firewalling, etc. Which a large setup would do.

For me it 'just works'
However i am on a Linux machine, not windows. YMMV due to that.
