I'm familiar with the Makehuman figures and objects. I didn't know they were intended for Blender - and their freebies have never quite worked for me in DAZ, so I haven't paid a lot of attention to the project - but that is interesting to know as I move forward with Blender.

There is also a DAZ to Blender bridge now... so, once you learn Blender - evidently it is far easier to import content from DAZ into it... which is a major library to have access to. Isn't perfect - things arrive in a manner that requires specific Blender skill to get working - but it can be done.

There is a 'poser' extension of sorts for Blender.

Used to be called 'makehuman' i think. Was well loved in the community then suddenly the dude just vanished and took his repository with him.  Being GPL, some people had a recent clone of the code, and forked.  I'll have to dig up the name/url as its been a while.

it won't get you prison time. it will get you a $15,000 fine for each instance though. You can't be criminally charged though.

interrupt was correctly using the <R>eply command but we don't have a threaded view. And he was courteous enough not to torture us with full-message quotes.
:)

Oh i agree quotes can get silly, quickly... but when there is no context ( or its not the message above it  ) its rough for people like me.

(quotes full message just to be annoying)

I'm especially curious what this is all about since apparently I lost my $. Do I need to log into WebCit just to see the context? :)

Literally? No.

Probably not the original intention of this thread but I am currently working on a "Forgot my Password" addition to citadel. Unlike other sites, there will be no "Forgot my username option" even though the forgot my password routine is more complicated. If you signed up on a citadel in this day and age and don't remember your user name, well then... fuck you.

By the way, do any of you have any idea of just how much is involved with a simple "Forgot my password" login option? With a database dig and insert? Holy crap.

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Saturday afternoon and didn't miss Uncensored today. On a whim, I moved the site back to its primary data center. Everything should still be exactly as it was before. Thanks for your patience and have an awesome femtosecond.

You must be using a global dns provider (like CISCO/open) that blink shifts the destination IP... otherwise we would be asking what TF happened. Vultr, DigOcean, Linode and even AWS take forever to route A records to the right IP. I'm thinking you have figured this out lol

depends on what TTL you set. AWS is capable of reacting quite quickly.

Subject: an odd thing happened.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

I have citadel.smashbot.com and smashbot.com (online chat room) on the same welcome page. Citadel gets a visitor about once every two weeks, and its either myself or PD. The online chat room gets no visitors, the captcha is too complicated I guess. HOWEVER, yesterday something very odd happened. The chat room actually had people in it. They were trying random commands and phrases to see what the responses were. BUT they were all focused on one thing: the word "Citadel". After convincing a person from Slovakia that I was not a bot (the name smashbot doesnt help that argument), they went on to explain what they are looking for. Apparently, they are chasing a new blockchain or crypto currency. The apparent "organizers" of this frenzy are sending tweets under the names of Alex Baker and ElliotTrades. Elliot Trades appears to be Elliot Wainman according to LinkedIn. ANYHOW, they have hundreds of thousands of followers, and they are promising the next greatest thing to those who can figure out their clues and riddles. They are calling their disciples "Future Citizens" of The Citadel, and regularly post tweets with stuff like this: citadel

Notice the shape of the table?

These guys thought they were onto something and were very disappointed when I told them that Citadel is just a 40+ year old name for computer bulletin board systems, and that I was not the Doctor Livingston they presumed.
