Stopped in my local bagel shop on my way to work, this morning. Some sort of Hamas spokesperson or, at the very least, apologist, was being interviewed and was, as was to be expected, lying through his teeth and out of every orifice that the rockets were being fired from open areas and not from residential or other highly populated areas, and challenged any and all assertions thereof.
Let's pay no attention to the recorded building of and/or launching of these rockets that has been recorded by IDF and news outlets. For heaven's sake, there was a reporter who recorded a tent being erected just outside of his hotel, used to mask the assembly and hiding of a rocket launcher, recorded the tent coming down and the camouflaging of the rocket launcher and then later recorded that rocket's being launched from that spot.
Never mind the IDF's recordings of the buried/camouflaged rocket launch sites, the houses, mosques, hospitals, schools, etc that have all manner of weapons, mines, bombs, rockets, tunnel entrances in them.
I would like nothing more than to see Hamas, Hezbollah and all their ilk eliminated once and for all.
Mainstream Media: "If you are a Jew, or if 'you' are Israel, then you are a liar, a reprobate, responsible for every problem ever experienced by Mankind in the last five thousand (plus) years, and must be immediately and completely exterminated in a global program that makes Adolf Hitler look like Mother Theresa in comparison."
Truth: The absolute opposite of the preceeding paragraph.
Over the (almost) seventy years since the birth of the current Israeli state, Israel has instigated or been the cause of EXACTLY ZERO of the conflicts into which they have been dragged by being the direct target of intentional attack.
I have never, in my entire life, witnessed a Nation more deserving of the complete and unfettered support of the Community of Nations while at the same time seldom receiving that support.
What I can absolutely *not* understand, especially in light of the current national "governance" in the United States, is the seeming consistency of American Jewish support for Democrats at the national level.
Obama is NOT a supporter of Israel. Never has been. Never will be.
Obama's hatred of the Jews is thinly disguised but nonetheless there. As we Catholics would say: "As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be."
And yet the Jews in America consistently and completely supported his initial election, and his re-election.
Barack HUSSEIN Obama would just as much prefer Israel "go away" as would any Arab leader.
And you can count on that.

Ba'raq Saddam Hussein Osama Obama is most likely a member of one or more terrorist organizations himself. Hamas, ISIS, CAIR, Al-Qaeda, the muslim brotherhood, MSNBC ... they are all one and the same. And Obama is one of them.
The only reason he isn't shouting "death to teh zionists!!1" on television every day is because it would make more American Jews realize that the Democrap party is NOT their friend.

The DemoCrap party has *never* been the friend of Jews in America.
The 'craps stand firmly against everything Jews hold in high regard:
1) sound education free of the entanglements of government
2) freedom of speech
3) freedom of religion
4) the free enterprise system and Capitalism
5) true tolerance for other people in return for tolerance from them
Sound principles of good living.
More people should *emulate* the Jews instead of "hating" them.
Some day, perhaps, G*d willing.
Heh... a former boss of mine is Jewish, and strongly democratic. I expect he wouldn't agree with your assessment of the party here.
>>Obama's hatred of the Jews is thinly disguised but nonetheless there
That veil is so thin that one of these days someone's going to notice that it ain't there...
As for Jews voting democrat, it's very much in vogue among academics... because they think democrat means open-minded.

31 years experience in teaching (the 'hard stuff' - physics and calculus) taught me many things.
The most important of those "things" was that "academics" are assholes. Their phoney liberalism is totally for show. When they are not "in the eye of the public" you'd swear they were opera stars since all they really ever say is "me me me me meeeeeeeee..."
I've long been saying that "intellectual" is not the same thing as "intelligent."
I've also been saying that if there's any hope for this country, it's in the possibility that rednecks will save it someday, because the intellectual elite are ruining it as fast as the can.

The 'craps stand firmly against everything Jews hold in high regard:
There is a deep, deep strain of anti-semitism among some of the far right in America... going back to the 30s, if not earlier, one could hear far-right radio programs and receive far-right literature based around the usual anti-banking, anti-Fed quackery.
These currents of thought are alive to this day. And Rand Paul is in it up to his eyeballs, but that's another matter.
Jews: if you think Obama is bad for your interests, just wait till President Paul gets in.
I consider myself to be an arch-conservtive.
Many who know me consider me "to the right of far-right."
I am an extremely vocal supporter of Israel, and have held Seder in my home for my Jewish friends on more than one occasion (I am a practicing Catholic).
So if you equate 'arch conservative' with 'anti-semite' you err. And you offend me.
I know nothing about Rand Paul.
I judge politicians mostly by what they claim their platform is.
Of course, if you have pretty much no platform, then you might be Obama...
the absurdity of life in Israel:
I really wrote this: Yeah, I know I'm being stupid, but I'm kind of avoiding taking the kids outside, except to the mall, because I'm afraid of getting caught during a rocket attack with 3 kids. (Stupid because there hasn't been a rocket attack here in like 2 weeks)
And I meant the part in parenthesis.
Seriously. There hasn't been a rocket attack here in like 2 weeks, so you can pretty much say I'm being ridiculous about worrying about ti.
I think it's only natural to be worried about such things. I remember in the early 80's we didn't go christmas shopping in London because of the fear of a terrorist bombing around that time.
In September 2001, right after "9-11", I holed up in my office for just about six straight weeks composing "Heroes' Requiem - a War Requiem for Our Time." [this is not an ad!] It is a rather immense piece, with two adult choirs, a boy choir, 4 'oepratic' soloists, etc, etc. etc.
Took just about six weeks to compose, score and correct some errors.
About a week later, after talking about this with a friend in Florida (I'm in California) I asked him if he'd be interested in hearing it and seeing the score etc. along with some musician friends. After hashing back and forth a bit we set a date for the "conference" and I booked the flight - if I recall it was in early November 2011.
My friends out here all said the equivalent of "are you nuts" "flying after 9-11" blablablah....
I told them all the same thing.
If I don't do this then THEY WON.
I'm still here.
This is absolutely NOT the same thing as putting your children in harm's way. This was only me. Huge difference.
I honestly don't know what I'd do.
Someone should have gotten nuked on 2001-sep-12, just to say "*This* is what happens when you fuck with America." That's pretty much the only message they would have actually digested. But instead, we put one of theirs in the White House seven years later.

Agreed. 250%.
And, unfortunately, the last time a President made that ballsy of a statement was JFK during the Missile Crisis.
Bush II should have issued ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE after 9-11, nor should anyone else in the US.
Absolute quiet.
No saber rattlng.
No press conferences.
And a few days later the Arabs should have awaken that morning to find a city missing. Wouldn't matter much which one.
Actions speak louder than words, as they say.
