I think it is one of the issues that drives young people out in *droves* to vote not for *their* side, but *against* us - and that is going to continue to be a huge problem that gets people like Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and Fetterman elected to our bewilderment.
Everyone is sitting around going, "How could those people get elected?"
Maybe there is a message in who they would RATHER have in office... a mentally impaired old man or a stroke victim - than *anyone* who claims to have an agenda of imposing their morality on strangers.
It is something we're going to have to face if we want to remain a viable party.

always between man and woman. Taking something like marriage
and basterdizing it is not the way to go about it. It always
was a religion thing, if a gay couple wanted to do something
similar, then fine but don't call it marriage. That the church

I am so glad somebody posted this: if accepted scriptures condemn gay relation ships and the church willfully ignores them, then they are very bad at being the church.
But then I apply this logic to most Christians. I like to call them Pub Christians, because they will defend Christian values in the pub as if they care, then ignore them when they see fit.
See, if you are Catholic, it means you recognize the Roman Church as an authority and recognize that their interpretation of the scriptures is an accurate interpretation of the will of God. If you defend Christian values, have lots of unwed sex, and you say "Nah, God does not care" when called up on it, then you are a Pub Christian.
Well, now we have a Pub Church. That is one reason why I have more respect for Protestants nowadays.
I personally am of the opinion marriage should not be a figure recognized by the law. By the Church, yes, but if a copuple wants to be a legal unit they should be allowed to create a limited society and called Jane & John Limited Society.
It makes total sense to me, a person who believes the church was created to fleece the believers. They see $ in not excluding that demographic at this point in time. ( i wont get into 'belief' as that is a personal choice, but i do fully hate organized religion concepts )
As far as marriage. I agree to an extent, but we need some sort of legal acknowledgement. Mainly for the purpose of property ownership, financial liability, child custody etc. i do think that 'marriage' should be ignored by the "state" as they should not be in the business to condone, or disapprove, any religious practices like this. Instead you create a LLC. Be it 2 people, 4, same sex, not same sex, race, bla bla dont matter. Just be of legal age and sound mind. Treat it as any other 'legal partnership', and you do whatever you feel like for the religious side of things, be it you dress up and take your vows in front of your favorite deity, or you get naked, open your veins and share blood in front of a camp fire while chanting to the trees.
