President Trump (peace be upon him) has announced that the United States is officially recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel ... which it already is, as he noted when he said "Today, we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israels capital. This is nothing more or less than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. Its something that has to be done."
The US embassy will be moved, also quite appropriately, from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

The "palestinians" were never even real Palestinians. They are basically latter-day Philistines. And they have no legitimate claim to any land in Israel (or possibly anywhere else).
This is good news. And if the Philistines attack, they should be annihilated.
Read any news story before the 60's and they were called "arabs". There was no Palestinian race, no Palestinian language, no Palestinian anything.
Hell, if you look at the flag of Palestine from the 30's it' had a Jewish star on it. The Bank of Palestine issued currency with Hebrew on it.
Arafat with the creation of the PLO was brilliant to invent an oppressed people whose land was stolen, that NEVER EXISTED.
The truth is that it doesn't really matter. Israel belongs to the Jews, and the Palestinians/Philistines/Arabs have no legitimate claim to any of it. It was magnanimous of Israel to give them a bit of land to call their own in an attempt to establish peace, but the Palestinians/Philistines/Arabs have since proven to the world that they are not interested in peace; they want nothing short of 100% of Israel and for all the Jews to be dead.
You can't negotiate with people whose minimum requirement is for you to be dead.
I still think Andrew Klavan's "one state solution" [ https://youtu.be/uIEeiDjdUuU ] is the best possible way to go.
moving the embasse is nothing more than a symbolic gesture, utterly useless but WILL get people killed. fucking stupid, the whole lot of you...
friend of mine said it better:
To my many Orthodox Jewish friends who are rejoicing in Trump's recent announcement about Jerusalem: you do realize that this in no way reflects an alliance with you, but rather was solely intended to appease Evangelical supporters, many of whom would be much happier if you didn't exist, don't you?
It is a core evangelical belief that when Jerusalem is restored as the capital the messiah's arrival will be hastened and the Jews will be converted to Christianity. This is not some marginal rumored belief - it's core doctrine.
The announcement is intended to generate Evangelical support now in Alabama for its would-be pedophile Senator, Trump's bird of a feather.
Your chosen leader makes "crooked" Hillary look like a Saint. It's time you took off the filtered glasses, put down whatever you're smoking, washed your hands and recognized Trump for the decrepit, amoral lunatic that he is, or risk losing whatever respect may be left for you among decent people with a brain.
The idea of peace is far-fetched. Hamas (which controls the Palestinian Authority) wants Israel destroyed and Jews dead. Not exactly a great starting place.
Acknowledging Israel's capitol says to the world that America stands by the continued right of Israel to not only exist, but determine her destiny, as is her right.
If peace negotiations are to occur, it is far better to come from a position of strength, which this helps bolster.
(Moshe Dyan never should have turned the keys of the Temple Mount over to the Wakf..... We wouldn't even be having this discussion now.)
When it comes to the Philistines ... if you appease them, they attack; if you anger them, they attack; if you do nothing, they attack. They are an organized mob of terrorists whose sole mission in life is to effect the complete destruction of the Jewish state.
You know who else wanted the Jews all dead?
There's something ironic here, of course... by recognizing Jerusalem in this way, something I expect many Jews wanted to see, it brought violence to Israel, something I expect Israelis didn't want to see.
Worth it?
I dunno. Not my call, really. I kinda view that whole region of the world as having a particularly passionate form of insanity that I won't ever understand.
Not that I understand our various forms of insanity, either.
This. Today, let's go with the Greeks.

There has been pretty much non-stop violence since forever, with the "stabbing intifada" pretty much since 2016...
Aside from a handful of protests which turned into riots, things haven't gotten much worse over the past week.
The reason we're not seeing daily attacks here is that the army is stopping them, as they have been for a long long time.
