Posted a 'didn't try to leave it for you' note again today. No message on the answering machine, so he didn't even bother trying to call, as requested.

It's going to get sent back if they fail to get it to me one last time. The driver doesn't care. I suppose the FedEx manager's don't care. Only the shipper and I care.

Worst service I have *ever* experienced with a delivery company.

Can't argue with that, fleeb, as I've found FedEx to be the "toilet of shipping companies" recently.

And "recently" corresponds directly with their adoption of the absurd "the only way you can talk to us is through our toll free number" policy. As if a guy named Betty with a Hindu accent is really going to understand *any* situation involving the confluence of geography and a clock expressed by a customer speaking fluent English - even when the customer is intentionally using small common words...

it seems as if you need significant amounts of brain power to understand a foreign language, theres not enough left to fulfill even rather simple things like typing something into a terminal, or operating a multiple choice matrix becomes a real problem.

we experienced similar when DELL moved their call centers from germany to hungry.

We experience similar behavior with DHL recently and also with Hermes (who always sucked). Since we live on our own property in a single house, the delivery guys would normally drop the packages somewhere at "hidden" spots. Or they would drop them at our neighbors, who are retired and therefore always at home. Now, we get more and more notes that a delivery failed and we should pick up the packages at the post office. Even if somebody is at home and watching the entire front area of the house, they sometimes seem to simply skip delivery at all.

Hermes even went so far to not deliver at all, claiming the addressee would not live at our house. The label on our postbox is badly readable, but the sorry excuses gain traction.

Gads, I just reread what I wrote. "..the FedEx manager's don't care."

What's wrong with me? Am I so angry, I've lost all sense of grammar?

Don't worry, Aahz.  We'll send out the search party that went after the Malaysia Airlines.  I'm sure you'll land....somewhere at somepoint....

FedEx could have saved Malaysia Air 370. All that would have disappeared would have been a note saying "we tried to make this plane go missing but you were not here to accept it"

The company who shipped the order with them told me they'll hang onto it for two days if they fail to deliver it to me toda.

I told them that would be pointless... I can't pick it up, as they are too far away for me to drive by and get it by the time I get home. I said if they can't deliver it, have them use another company who can (at their expense).
Otherwise, it'll have to go back to them.

I hope it doesn't come to that. At the end of the day, I'm buying this so I can set up IPv6 at home. I want to tinker with it.

Aaand sometime between about 5pm and 6pm, someone changed the delivery to indicate that I would be picking it up at the facility.

Nobody at this address made any such change. I couldn't handle it earlier, as I was driving, but Melvin contacted someone, who promptly ignored the problem.

So, I called them, and yelled. Very loudly. Outside where the 222 people who live in this community could clearly hear me. People in the neighborhood are in complete agreement with me about the problems they have also had trying to FedEx to deliver parcels here.

I eventually got someone who was supposedly a manager, who told me the same tired crap I've been hearing... that I'll get it tomorrow.

That really isn't good enough. That said, if it doesn't get to my home by tomorrow, I'm not going to get it by FedEx, because nobody will be around here for the rest of the week.

Tomorrow, incidentally, marks a full week after they were supposed to deliver it the first time.

If you use FedEx, be careful where you send the package. It might never make it.

The package finally arrived a couple of minutes or so ago.

Man, that was the worst delivery service I've ever seen.

Sad, because FedEx *used* to be cream of the crop.  Recently, plain old USPS has been more reliable than any of the 3 "private" brands.

USPS knows how to get it there (eventually - i.e. don't pay to expedite as it all arrives at the same speed).  It might be crushed, but it will get there (former USPS worker).

The device works as intended, so they didn't mess it up.

But, yeah, I would have preferred USPS if this is de rigeur for FedEx. Worst experience, ever. I need to finish writing a letter for them, detailing the many things that went wrong, on the odd chance that they'll consider fixing it. This... is completely unacceptable.

If you're referring to the construction tool, as applied to their head, obviously not:
