This is absolutely how you do it. And in practical application - it started with escapist fiction. Comics and Sci Fi, gaming, computer gaming, finally mainstream cinema... and it is almost all driven by LGBT+ activism. All of the Identity Politics in ALL of these groups was introduced by the LGBT community agitating for "representation" - and BLM and AntiFA and actually, the Church of Satan, are all part of this too.

But really it is *socialists* who infiltrated the LGBT community and then aimed them at these groups. They got the LGBT community to become activists promoting their interests, then they did the same thing with PoC, feminism, Atheism.

Here is when you know your niche tribe is in trouble - when suddenly people aren't "A SciFi fan, or a FRP fan, or a Computer Fan, or a Comics fan..."

But instead, they are a "LGBT TG POC Comics books fan..." When they start adding modifiers in front of their fandom - they've arrived, and soon you'll be getting called a gatekeeper and driven out of the community you nurtured in obscurity for 4 decades.

And once they get a big enough presence and enough high level control in each community, they start directing everyone there - who understands the penalty for non-compliance is exile from this community that is core to their identity - toward specific targets.

That is another problem with the Internet - It used to be that the disenfranchised weirdos didn't have a united voice, where the popular and accepted were all united, each on a local level.

The Internet made the outcasts and misfits realize they were legion - and that even if they thought they were alone in their local community - no, there was a whole ARMY of people who liked dressing up as My Little Pony and buggering one another. And that gave them power and a voice.

And it turns out, that is a terrible thing.

We are losing the culture war, and we will all pay for it one way or

another.  Unfortunately I don't know how to fight a culture war.

I'm a computer nerd.  I've never been very popular, nor have I ever

been very good at convincing others to adopt my ideas or opinions of

things.

The way you fight a culture war is as follows:

You pick a bunch of strategic groups an infiltrate them. I am not talking about big groups such as "Military" or "Moviemaking", but small groups such as "The Local Chess Club". Then, you use those groups for political dealings. "I will support your urbanism plan if you give us a handout for purchasing 200 chess boards."

At some point, the sum of the groups you control is so big that you may start taking bids. You support the party that gives you more of what you want.

The trick is to use, in the begining, groups that are not recognizeable as political entities. Everybody knows chess is apolitic, right? So it is easy to move into a Chess club and overtake it because there won't be resistence. They are not politic so they won't care much if somebody shows up with a don't thread on me shirt. This allows you to bring more of your friends until the Club belongs to you.

Except you should try not to be very obvious until it is too late for the normal Chess club members to react.

The issue in these cases is having friends to begin with, so you can start with the infiltration. You can also create your own group from scratch if need be but that is more work and you still needs friends on board with the plan.

Once you are big enough you are an economic power on your own. There is people who depends on you. Maybe they need your club to exist because you are the only place in the area where they can play Chess. Maybe you are the main consumer of Chess pieces in the State, so boardgame factories depend on you to survive and will defend you to the death. This is the endgame point because in that moment you have a whole lot of people fighting for your political goals and funding your political goals even if they don't have any special interest in them.

I am in local politics, and THIS is the handbook.

Now what you have to do is find people enough, with free time enough, to do it. There is a reason why the left is always poaching for students: they have a lot of energy and a lot of spare time, so they provide a lot of bang for the buck if you manage to recruit one.

Garage clean/purge continues.

Ran across a sardine can of 7.62x39 stripper clips buried under a box of computer books ( no wonder i didnt see it there ).  Nice to find ammo instead of expend it...

Books get donated of course.

I've been thinking lately about AR pistols and why don't I have one. What are your thoughts on pistol braces? Are they here to stay, or is it only a matter of time before they're bumpstock'd (which I think is actually in limbo right now, at least in part of the country. Didn't some lower court strike it down?)?

By the way, since I couldn't find one in my area for rental, I finally just bought an old worn out P-01 on the cheap. In case anyone was dying to know the answer to my question about its width, the frame is just over 1 1/16". Like maybe 1 3/32. I don't have calipers so I have to eyeball it with measuring tape. So: just slightly thicker than a G19's dust cover, but a little thinner than the rest of the G19 frame. And I was right, that 1.4" metric comes from the total width including the slide lock or decocker.

I think a *true* brace that is 'pinned' ( solid piece with straps, like a shockwave blade  ) will stay.   Anything adjustable will be gone in the near future.

Of course you can always register as a SBR and avoid the legal concerns. i see that continuing to be an option for adjustable braces, and not a true ban 'call it a SBR, pay us $ and you can keep it '.

Bleh. I prefer to at least pretend to myself that the government doesn't have a list of what I own.

Yes, its pretending. Unless you buy 100% from private sales with cash, including ammo and any accessories, they know.

I may have told this story before:

Years ago i was in a guy's office and he got a call from the FBI.  There was a attempted assassination of a senator or something. It was an odd sized caliber that they used, and the FBI tracked down everyone in the entire country that bought parts for that caliber. He had bought a barrel upwards of 10 years before via mail order.  "where is your gun and where were you"...   Scary stuff actually.

That is scary and also not at all surprising. So I try to limit my purchases to a) things that are super common, and b) bought in person and with cash. In my state I can do FFL transfers without a NICS check because I have a carry permit. Of course, they know I own *something* because I'm in the permit database, but hopefully they don't know exactly what or how many. But then there's the back-door registry that the ATF will collect all of the transfer papers if my FFL ever goes out of business, so I do my part to keep them financed.

You can tell me it's all theater. I know this, but it still makes me feel like I'm at least making it a little hard on them.

Unfortunately most of what i have was purchased from a local shop where the owner got ill unexpectedly, and closed up shop about 10 years ago.  So all his records were absorbed by the ATF. If i had known they were doing that, i might have chose a different route and gone to the yearly shows instead.  Not that i had anything to 'hide' but its none of their damned business really.

Another store i used for a few transactions, was shut down for selling out the back door so their records got sized...

Sure they dont know *what* i have today due to sales since then, but they know what i *did* have.. So for me its a wash.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

Well if you are in the states, and ever purchased one from a store or online, you best get it out of your gun, destroy it with a big ass hammer, and put the parts in a bag to prove it.  The ATF is coming.  Have it ready for them or you may be going to jail and lose everything.

Putting aside that the ATF is unconstitutional anyway, binary triggers dont even violate their definitions, and they arbitrarily made this decision. Late this week they started raiding stores, seizing product and more importantly: getting sales records.  Next is to come after the purchasers.

I saw the "leaked memo" but then I also saw comments rightfully pointing out flaws with it which bring its authenticity into question. Of course, I don't put it past the ATF that whoever wrote it might just be a moron, either.

Are raids and seizures really happening? Sources? Not that I think it couldn't happen, I just find that I can't believe anything at face value anymore, no matter what side of the aisle it came from.
And yes the unconstitutional BATFE needs to be abolished and a lot of them probably hanged for treason. But I'll compromise for just abolished.

Store raids are happening.  While i agree you never know for sure too many people and news outlets are reporting them so i do believe its happening.

Home raids, not yet that i know of. I expect that in a couple more weeks if they start that.

LOL. Close, it's a trigger group with a mode where it fires once when you press, and then once again when you release. I don't doubt that it triggers lots of purple-haired non-binary commie useful idiots.

That triggering system sounds very... American to me. Not in a "Glorious Bald Eagle" way, but in a "McDonalds and Disneyland" way.

I should clarify that the phrase "purple-haired twat" refers to a person who has purple hair and is being referred to as a twat, not a person who has a twat with purple hair. Probably was clear already, but engineering specs and all...

The fact that such a triggering system even exists, only serves to accentuate the fact that it was wrong to ban full auto in the first place. The same holds true for bump stocks.

That was my first reaction too. I have heard before that's common. If you ever have to defend yourself, expect to lose your weapon. It is wrong.

But having said that, I think there is more to it in this case. I heard that Kyle dodged the unlawful possession charge because the rifle wasn't legally his. The friend who bought it for him plead guilty to straw purchase. So in the court's eyes the rifle belongs to the friend. The way I heard it, Kyle said he wanted it back so that he could destroy it, the court basically said "no but we'll destroy it for you" and he accepted this compromise.

The straw purchase thing seemed a little fishy to me. I thought the judge decided it was legal for Kyle to own the rifle, and as far as I know it's legal to buy a rifle and gift it to someone who may legally possess it, so where is the straw purchase? But the friend plead guilty so it's on the books now.

Personally, i think a straw purchase is only 'applicable' if you buy it for a criminal.

Kyle was not.

This stuff needs to go to the SCOTUS.    No wait. its past that its time to reboot. I'm so over the violations of rights. ( all of them )

( also heard the ATF now will arrest you if you have a 'gun making class' and one of your students borrows a screwdriver from you.  That is now considered manufacturing a firearm for the student"

Pre-woke Disneyland and McDonalds are not a thing to be embarrassed of.

They're globally dominant examples of American exceptionalism - things that grew so iconic and recognized that you can find images of tribal South Americans who have been touched by their presence.

They're EXACTLY what we are - and they're collapsing on themselves for the same root reasons.
