Nah, they have known this for a while.  I still remember Ted Kennedy some 30 years ago ( slightly paraphrased, and might have been even further back in time ) " we cant take their right away, but we can make it too expensive for them to exercise it"

The push to mandate micro-stamping, and electronic 'safety controls' were 2 of those attempts.

Currently they are calling for making ALL semi auto rifles NFA items. ( and no grandfather clause ) So they get their national registry for when the collection happens, and something like 300 bucks a firearm registration fee in the meantime. So your 150 dollar 22 is now nearly 500.. ( in theory, they see trillions of dollars in fees.. )

I worried that they would eventually figure this out.  You don't have to ban guns, just make it prohibitively expensive to shoot them.  Of course, the gang-bangers won't mind; a drive-by doesn't take that much ammo, and it's just the cost of doing business.  But they were never the real target, were they?

Looks like wolf and tula have contracts ( not the correct word.. not sure what they call it ) that dont expire until late 2023, so in theory, they can still ship until that runs out, since there are no renewals after September.  Unless of course they change the rules by then.

500 round box of cheap 22, $90 dollars..   ouch.  While many people i know have enough, wont be any range time for the foreseeable future. If ever again.

I rented a Glock 48 today.  Surprisingly it felt indistinguishable from my 19.  I expected a little more recoil, like what you get from a P365.

This is probably what I should be buying right now rather than a CZ P-01.

I'm not even very good with handguns, I just seem to want to own all of them.

Please help me.  I think I have a problem.

I dont have a lot of 9mm plastic to compare against each other, but my G17 has less recoil than my Kahr K9 ( steel )

its all in the flexible nature of the plastic

Your problem is that you have so few guns that you still can count them. That problem won't face away if you stop purchasing :)

I have a problem with this line of thinking.  Yes, that shit only flies when the sweeping majority of the population tolerates it, and yes it is unfortunate that their majority allows these sorts of government overreaches.  But surely not everyone is willing to tolerate it or supports it.  For those in the minority, what they are experiencing is by definition a violation of their basic human rights.  It's the classic "democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to have for dinner" quote.  You can't blame the sheep.

It scares me because we will see the same thing happen in the US.  We already have.  There is a minority of us who recognize the GCA and the NFA and the ATF as blatant constitutional infringements.  Our rights are infringed upon, but here we are.

Notice that Biden chose to wait until only 80 million unvaccinated remained before announcing a mandate.  Did he choose to go the route of mandate because there's a remaining 80 million, or did he always plan to mandate and only waited until those that would resist were an insignificant minority?  How far are the vaccinated willing to go to defend the rights of their unvaccinated countrymen?  It's one thing to sacrifice to defend your own rights, but another to sacrifice to defend the rights of someone else after you've already voluntarily given up your own.

Of course when I say "Biden" I'm speaking figuratively.

That's exactly what I mean about losing the culture war.  Ideally we'd take back ground in the media, the military and police, and public opinion, so that changes are made peacefully before it comes to the point of a shooting war where we're already at a significant advantage, both in manpower and morale.

No shooting required on their part really now that they control it all. You step out of line, you vanish. Either literally ( jail, via made up charges ) or figuratively ( cancelled ).

Yes i'm pessimistic, its my nature.

You can blame the sheep. But it doesn't make the situation any better. They're just sheep.

I don't know what the solution is, but Nurb is right - that is the scenario we are presented with.

The ironic thing is that Twitter justified all its censorship because they claimed cyberharassment was causing disengagement - that voices were being silenced because of bad online behavior.

I've been vocal since the 1980s via digital communication. I've *never* been LESS vocal in that entire time than right now - because I'm very afraid of the repercussions - and not just that the mob will dox and swat you and cancel you...

But that society actually condones this. Social credit is ALREADY here. You can't really speak up anymore - unless you want to be a martyr.

Ya, these days it gets your career gone, your entire family attacked, the federal government down on you, and even perhaps your house ablaze.

Law and order, and the people's willingness to follow it, which used to hold things together is gone. And you can only fight so many of them off when they come with flaming sticks. It's frustrating.

The way you fight a culture war is as follows:

You pick a bunch of strategic groups an infiltrate them. I am not talking about big groups such as "Military" or "Moviemaking", but small groups such as "The Local Chess Club". Then, you use those groups for political dealings. "I will support your urbanism plan if you give us a handout for purchasing 200 chess boards."

At some point, the sum of the groups you control is so big that you may start taking bids. You support the party that gives you more of what you want.

The trick is to use, in the begining, groups that are not recognizeable as political entities. Everybody knows chess is apolitic, right? So it is easy to move into a Chess club and overtake it because there won't be resistence. They are not politic so they won't care much if somebody shows up with a don't thread on me shirt. This allows you to bring more of your friends until the Club belongs to you.

Except you should try not to be very obvious until it is too late for the normal Chess club members to react.

The issue in these cases is having friends to begin with, so you can start with the infiltration. You can also create your own group from scratch if need be but that is more work and you still needs friends on board with the plan.

Once you are big enough you are an economic power on your own. There is people who depends on you. Maybe they need your club to exist because you are the only place in the area where they can play Chess. Maybe you are the main consumer of Chess pieces in the State, so boardgame factories depend on you to survive and will defend you to the death. This is the endgame point because in that moment you have a whole lot of people fighting for your political goals and funding your political goals even if they don't have any special interest in them.

I am in local politics, and THIS is the handbook.

Now what you have to do is find people enough, with free time enough, to do it. There is a reason why the left is always poaching for students: they have a lot of energy and a lot of spare time, so they provide a lot of bang for the buck if you manage to recruit one.

For the record, this only works if the people you intend to deal with is any clever.

I remember trying to coordinate a collaborative effort between a political party and a MRA some years ago. The MRA was trying to sponsor a conference but local feminists were trying to bribe every authority in the area into forbidding it. The political party I negotiated in behalf of offered to defend the MRA's right to maintain the conference, in exchange for letting a member of the party attend and give a 10 minutes speech.

The representatives of the MRA didn't understand the nature of the deal and wanted the political party to support them for free, and as result they got no support and the conference was eventually cancelled due to nobody supporting them at all.

At which point is when I say: It is unfair and sad and whatever you have, but they deserved it.
