Me too. I mean, I realistically have 30 years at the outside - and it could be a matter of 3 or 4 years, for all I know... if something is unravelling in my colon or brain or clogging up my arteries....

So... basically - I'm not too worried about it. I'm 20 years past what I figured was my Best Before expiration date, anyhow. I'm already beating the odds.

Looks like "personally made firearms for personal use", the rules have not changed. I guess that is one good thing.  Of course in a year, who knows..

This is a gun attorney talking about that.

I haven't watched the video yet, but how about the sale of 80% kits? I should have jumped on that bandwagon long ago before the politicians learned about it. Crossed my mind several times and I just never did it.

Future sales will require them serialized, background checks and sold by FFLs.   So unless its a hobby, sort of pointless.

But, if you take a block of aluminum and do it yourself, no, as long as you dont give it to a gun shop overnight.  24 hours = inventory = serialized

Or invest in some real tools ..  its not that hard to machine parts, and lower end machining tools are not *that* expensive.  Just takes practice and willingness to learn.  Or, if that isn't practical you can always do like PA Luty  ( and some others ) have done with simple hand tools in the back of a shed.  And from everything i am reading about this, its still legal to do it at home, as long as you have no intent on sales or need to give them to a gun shop for a week if you need 'help'. That could change in 6 months of course, as we all know what the end-game is.

Not that i'm against 3D parts of course, but many people not understanding what they are doing will not do it right, and end up getting hurt. At least with metal, you have a larger window of error before "bad things happen" (tm).

( of course technically *all* these rules and laws are unconstitutional, but wont get into that here )

I am with Nurb432 here. Just download the Dr. Parabelum bundle from Postman's tracker and learn from there how to manufacture a real firearm with metal and wood.

Firearms are Middle Age technology. You need modern tools to make great ones, but a stick that goes boom and makes holes in Communists is not rocket science.

I like Luty so much because he was such an "I don't give a fuck" guy. His website is archived in Postman's too.

Yeah, I'm sure most of modern development is either in the cartridge or in mass production. I will check out that torrent. I did always want to make my own garage sten. I'm only mediocre with my hands, though. I can fix a few things when they break, but I don't have any craftsmanship skills. Maybe it's time to change that.

There are some advancements in modern designs of course, but at its core: Boom in a pipe sealed on one end, expels stuff in the other direction..

I don't know how I didn't know this but apparently people are shooting .40s and 9s through their 10mms with just a barrel swap and maybe lighter recoil spring. I read at least one anecdote that 9mm through a g20 is a little finnicky, but it sounds like the g29 is widely successful at handling all three calibers.

I'd never considered it until now, but I wonder if I need a g29? It might be nice to have something that can eat three different calibers. Two of those calibers would be new to me though, so I'm not sure. I always thought .45 would be sufficient for my large bore needs, but maybe it's time to diversify even more.

This sucks. I want all the guns.

So I was just thinking. Why was the M1 the greatest battle implement ever devised instead of the BAR??

Proposed 1000% tax on AR-15s coming:   And since its "such a significant cost and potential revenue, it belongs in a reconciliation bill" which means its filibuster proof.

Which reminds me: as we've already covered, making a gun in your garage is relatively easy. What we need are people figuring out how we're going to make propellant and primers from readily avaiable uncontrolled products.
