I'm surprised anyone is arguing that it has always been Pizza Huts, being that the "all restaurants are Taco Bell," thing is basically a meme.
I guess this is proof that globalization isn't complete, yet.

sort of like all the Atari signs, in 80s movies that showed the
future.
we all know how that ended.
Blade Runner 2049 still featured Atari logos to keep continuity (or exploit nostalgia, more like) with the original. I thought that was a nice touch.
Yeah, like the only place that 2001 didn't age well was the use of the Pan Am logo and maybe the assumption that 1960s-style "futuristic" chairs might still be the style on a 2001 station in earth orbit
c
I just rewatched (it's available in 4K now)
The Djinn chair--so futuristic that it actually stands out as dated: https://filmandfurniture.com/product/djinn-chair-olivier-morgue-2001-space-odyssey/
* When you go through "Tomorrowland" you get a glimpse of what the future looked like in the 1960s
* When you go through "Spaceship Earth" in EPCOT you get a glimpse of what the future looked like in the 1980s
And both glimpses breathlessly tell us that in the future we will have PICTURE PHONES!!!!!1 on our desks and on our kitchen walls, which we will use for ALL telephone calls!
I kind of like 1960s future-kitsch. It's groovy. :)
Frequently this is how it is... the idea is right, the execution is wrong.

I only wish them heavy loses if they are woketards. They usually are.
Was this one a woketard product this time around?
That is what everyone is saying

Actually, the Matrix series is less blatantly, hamfistedly woke than say, the Marvel shit... where for instance, the people of Wakanda all have tattoos laser etched inside their lips that reveal their identity as citizens.
I think there is a difference between the "woke" and the "woketards". I think the "woke" know this - and understand that the woketards actually tend to hurt their causes - and worse, are just in it for the virtue signaling more often than not.
I think most of Hollywood, what you get is straight white men and women trying to virtue signal that they are allies of marginalized groups and communities - and it comes across exactly that way.
Lana Wacowski isn't straight - and so I think he/she tends to handle her woke material a little more authentically. It matters to her and her story - but her story matters more to her than cramming in a bunch of woketard bullshit to virtue signal that she is an ally for LGBT issues. I think she proved that when she lopped off her dick.
The YouTube Algorithm suggested, and I watched, the old favorite of BBS denizens, WarGames (1983) with Matthew Broderick, Ally Sheedy, and Dabney Coleman. "Free with ads" as they offer it -- unless you have a hacked YouTube client that blocks the ads ... which I do. And it made me realize a few things...
1. Back in 1983 I was too young to appreciate how cute Ally Sheedy was.
2. I really miss computers! (Real computers, not the monolithic cloud crap we have now.)
3. Despite how much we made fun of kids who saw the film and then thought they were computer experts ... it was actually a really good movie.

Next time ask for somebody to upload the movie for you, so you don't have to go through ads... I actually have a DVD with an English track :)
Oh, wait, you have an ad remover. Awesome. Leech Google dry without generating revenue for them. You are such a good boy I'd give you a cookie.

i suspect that the way ad blocker works is that the ad still shows as
being viewed.
He sais he is using a hacked client. Maybe you are right and what the client does is to report that the ad is being consumed. In such case, we must put IG to shame for making Google richer than it is.
Only reason i say that is i have run into other cases where if ads are truly blocked, the content is too as the ad feeds back some sort of 'key' to move forward. So it fakes it like you watched/saw the ad, but it hides it from you personally.
My assumption is to screw with people that use stuff like a pi-hole.
Agreed. You're cheating one of them, you're cheating both of them - and making them pay one another for the privilege. Social protest at its finest.
