It is nice, yes.

Now, to keep this from swelling my head such that nobody can stand me anymore.

(Wait, did I hear someone in the peanut gallery say, "too late"?)

No, no....that was "do a figure-8"

All of this is true, and thank you.

It is unusual, but nice, to be recognized in this way. Now, hopefully, I can continue to do good work for my current job, heh.

Today's more deeply amusing anecdote than originally intended:

"Very impressive, until you die."

Some context:

My coworker told us a story about a fellow who had no fear. He had no fear because he felt no pain.

To show off, he jumped off the top of a three story building, and simply got up, seemingly unharmed. He died that evening from internal bleeding, since he couldn't feel the pain.

Very impressive, until you die.

Death can be impressive too, if it's spectacular enough.  Just wait until Amazon finally ships that woodchipper...

I have a feeling you have a few uses for a woodchipper that don't involve trees.

I guarantee that the only use I have for the machine is to rip apart dead wood.

Once in a while I might even give it tree branches.

You may have alternative definitions for the phrase 'dead wood'.

Anyone who makes me want to hit them in the head with a 2x4 is considered dead wood.

I suspected as much. I rather like the idea of dead wood applied to dead wood in such a fashion.

Man, it's been a crazy couple of weeks. I think things will start to die down to normal shortly. I hope so anyway.

What you said.  Extrapolated to months.  Hope you're right.....else it may be more than just things that will "die down"  :-(

Ugh.

If it's into the months for you, there's a management problem.

For us, it's probably a consequence of some shifting of the project's importance.
It's good, but the change is stressful.
