Thanks - the last two years since the company I left merged, I've been pretty
unhappy, and I think it led into a spiral of other issues. I hope this change
will help me get out of that death spiral.

fancy how the discussion directly turns into salary and retirement plans...
Had a phone interview with the Evil Empire of Seattle (the coffee one, not
the video game one, software monopoly one, or book one) that went really well.
They want to schedule an in-person panel interview as soon as possible after
Thanksgiving, which will unfortunately be a few weeks because I'm going to
Maryland for the first two week sin December. Still, I have some hope.
I have been to a meeting this week, wherein, I indicated my desire to come off the raod, and "drive a desk."
As it turned out, I may have timed it with extreme serendipity.
Now waiting on a call.....
Good luck to you both! May you each have a little extra to give Thanks for this year (even if you are on the wrong continent, Lynda <grin>)!
Good luck Sig. I have a friend that used to work for the evil coffee empire a few years back in the desktop support group. He liked testing the new items from the test kitchen as I remember.
Good question. What they don't know won't hurt them, but I should like to
find out the answer subtly.
We've installed a Christmas tree in the breakroom.
I asked if it was hackable.
This suggests I am starting to fit in here.
I gained a compliment today for correctly using "students'" and "student's" in the same document.
He said he had never seen anyone do that in the same document correctly before, after five years as a graduate student, 1 year as a high school instructor, and three years at this job.
Maybe I got slightly more out of DINFOS than the average graduate.
