My son saw it yesterday (he's 11). Gave it a 4 out of 10. Said the plot was confusing and the quality of the effects wasn't as good as last movie.

This.  The previous one was much better.  Music was disappointing, too.

Coming this summer:

STAR WARS: WEEKEND AT LEIA'S

(Yes, that was terrible, even for me. But I have no filter.)

I don't see why not. They already brought back Peter Cushing. And worked that other miracle with Fisher.

Ugh, they're already talking about it. [ http://tinyurl.com/hk5xnu8 ]

What they should really do is make a Star Wars where the entire cast is dead people. It can take place on Alderaan after it exploded.

Someone said today that this year's upcoming Disney In Space is the "last one of the saga"? Is that actually true?

Only if they fail to make money out of it. If it generates good profit they will make more, and more, and more and moaaaaaaaar.

Heh - I did that this summer. Unfortunately you get ushered through the set so you can't actually spend the afternoon there unless you repeatedly buy tour tickets. Was a nice nerd pilgrimage, though.  Apparently they're in the process of buying the building next door so they can build a full replica of the TNG sets.

Just a quick drive to Ticonderoga and you can spend your afternoon pretending you are on the USS Enterprise

I looked on the website, it is less expensive to buy a four ticket bundle than buy two senior tickets and one regular admission ticket.

If you purchased a cheaper four ticket bundle are they going to get pissed because only three people show up?

Don't watch the Star Wars trailer if you don't want a pretty major spoiler.

Honestly, the single ticket and tour was pretty OK, and I can see why they do it that way, beyond the money. I could easily see some rabid trekkies going to town on what's been this guy's dream to recreate. There's another one in Atlanta that you can rent out to do fan films or whatnot. There was plenty of time to go through everything and the pace was pretty leisurly.

So now I'm thinking there's got to be an alternate canon *somewhere* in the fandom, where the Empire are the protagonists, just trying to be peacemakers across the galaxy, and the rebels are a bunch of snotty upstarts who are just being selfish and disruptive.

(It's been said that this is how the French Revolution *actually* went.)

In a world where "Wicked" was so successful in doing this with the Wizard of Oz (not Aahz) world, I'm sure *someone* has done it to Star Wars. I was chatting with a friend today about this and we were thinking that if Luke had joined up with his dad to rule the galaxy, they could have easily wiped out those pesky brats.

Well, in Star Trek it's called Blakes 7.

The new trilogy has been playing with that dark/light ambiguity in some ways.

Not relevant. Only ANH/ESB/RotJ are canon.

It was actually George Soros.

Aha! George Soros and George Lucas are actually the same person, and he faked the death of Lucas because he was tired of changing costumes! (Also, Ian McDiarmid doesn't exist; Soros played the role of Emperor Palpatine with zero makeup.)
