My wife and I started watching it this past weekend. We got through the first 4 episodes so far.
I like it so far, and I am wondering where it is going.
I'm enjoying Picard quite a bit. You can see why they managed to convince Patrick Stewart to return to the character after swearing it off.
Well, episode 1 was great. Episode 2 I felt was slowly paced, didn't really go anywhere, and was just developing back-story in a somewhat predictable way. Let's hope they pick up the pace again with today's episode.
Mandalorian was actually pretty good. I went through it last month before
life got nuts and notes that I actually made time to go through the episodes.
It's very rare that I do that for any television/streaming media. I've thought
about trying Picard. Wouldn't be bad to go back to the late 80's and TNG.
Those were not bad times.
I subscribed to CBS All Access mainly for Picard, but then I binge-watched the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery.
Not bad, although spore drive is some serious deus ex machina, and they had to do a lot of retconning around that and the level of technology in the ship (which seems to exceed even that of the Enterprise-D, let alone TOS Enterprise.)
Season 1 better than Season 2 IMO.
Interesting. I found I liked Season Two more. I don't think I would have liked
it without the first season, but it felt more Trek-like and I started liking
the characters more.
Basically it's just a storyline set in the Star Wars universe with
characters we don't know....
Some number of years ago there was a fanfic version of that, but they did it *really* well, like with real sets and costumes and it looked like actual Trek. I don't remember what it was called but it was quite presentable.
