Random musing for the day:

I think it would be really cool to have a drone with enough power to lift and operate a running chainsaw.

This will surprise those of you who know me well, but I actually want it to prune trees from a safe distance. If you only care about personal safety and don't care where things land, it would be perfect.

(Yes it would have some obvious other uses, and I'm totally into that, but right now I'm looking at the dead tree in my front yard and thinking about how ladders, chainsaws, and my bad ankle don't mix.)

i actually had that same thought this summer, watching some line guys deal with a tree in a really bad location.  They ended up tearing out part of a wooden fence to drag a mini bucket thing into their back yard.

But i could see an easy accident and they catch the line instead of the tree... bad day for all. :)  other problem was getting close enough  to make a difference, but not getting the rotors caught.

A gas powered drone would be able to lift..

Ig, the idea of you owning such a drone is terrifying, and I hope you never do.
hut if you do, I hope you let me borrow it

It happens to me with pets.

It is hard to get angry at them after they tear a fence down when they trot torwards you and start kissing you all over.

I wouldn't say the pet is dumb.. they just dont really understand why the strange barrier was there in the first place.

The worst part is the last fence they torn down, they torn down accidentally.

I get it. She had an itch in her but, so she had to stratch it and I was not around. And there was a fence. And she is a heavy draft horse capable of lifting a farrier who is grabbing her leg just by raising her leg.

When I arrived I was already late. She had this sorry look of her. "I didn't want to break it, daddy!"

Ok serious question, even if it sounds like a joke ( cant seem to find it on google ) as i ran across this today in an email and confused. ( im sure i get it often but i ignore this stuff normally )

I know what some of these pronouns mean, like she/her. But what the hell does she/they mean? Does she have multiple personality disorder?

I know it's a serious question, but my serious answer is: don't try to understand it. You can't. The whole thing is a psy-op to destroy western language. It is designed to be impossible to understand. Even the alphabet queers can't agree on it and often in-fight among each other.

Most gay people that i am able to call friend ( or did, most are no longer with us.. poor unrelated life choices ), dont want labels. They want to live their life and be left alone to do so. And ya i know that ultimately its a scam, but it came out of left field so i was wondering what it really meant.

George Orwell correctly pointed out that if thought can control language, language can control thought. Weird pronoun usage is part of their newspeak.
I'm happy to call someone whatever they want to be called, but if someone is going to go apoplectic over getting it wrong ... well, that's generally not someone I want to keep company with anyway.

Using plural third-person pronouns (they/them) in place of singular (he/she) predates gender hysteria by a century or more, and we all do it: "What if someone wants pepperoni on their pizza? Could they have that?" To be gramatically correct, one would say "Could he or she have that?" but it sounds awkward.
So we use the plural "they" to refer to "any person" and it actually sounds pretty natural.

On the other hand, using plural third-person pronouns (they/them) to refer to someone whose gender is obvious, is just forced stupidity.
"What if Mike wants pepperoni on their pizza? Could they have that?" sounds awkward because Mike is a dude, he looks like a dude, and is obviously a he/him.
(And that's the case, regardless of whether Mike is bio-male or trans-male.)

I set my pronouns on LinkedIn to "Verified/Certified" to make it look like I got a special premium account.

One of my passengers was talking about her family.  In her family, there are two girls named Aaron.  Yep, you readed that right.  The boy spelling but it's applied to a girl.

Names are increasingly becoming gender-neutral.

What's the girl spelling of Aaron? Erin? I worked with a male Erin a long time ago. He eventually took to being proactively angry about people questioning it.

But yes, a lot of names are losing their gender associations, and that's ok. Language evolves.

Where i work lots of people with middle eastern names..   its a crap shoot at best if you dont know the person. And if you guess wrong you are liable to be written up and send down to the equity board for re-education.

Just had one 'woke' person decide to go with her 'native language name since i was born in south Africa'   .  Whatever.

What is his profit? $___

3 Teaching Math In 1990...

His cost of production is $80.

Did he make a profit? __Yes or __No

4. Teaching Math In 2000...

A logger cuts down a beautiful forest because he is selfish and inconsiderate and cares nothing for the habitat of animals or the preservation of our woodlands.

What do you think of this way of making a living?

Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes? What % of minorities and transgenders  were employed by the logger?

6. Teaching Math in 2023...

Math is Racist.

Students no longer need any math skills to go to Graduate school.

2+2 = 4, or 22, or what ever you feel is correct.

There are no wrong answers, feel free to express your feelings e.g., anger, anxiety, inadequacy, helplessness etc.

Hilariously, they're setting kids up for failure.  Once they get into the real world, where math oppressively rules over every goddamn aspect of life ....

wait, won't they just die due to their inability to math?

Stupid people dying because they are too stupid to live.  Natural selection at work!

By design.

You can more easily dominate, control and dictate to failures than you can successes.
