Battlefield Earth wasn't part of the same sci-fi story arc upon which Hubbard built "scientology." It makes sense that the film was a disaster, because the screenplay was immersed in a scientoloony agenda.

(Of course, scientology's "Incident II" is far more believable and plausible than anthropogenic climate change.)

Battlefield Earth was overly long, but kind of fun. It didn't take itself too seriously.

Mission: Earth (the 10-book series) was 3 books of plot stretched into 10 so the author could say he wrote a 10-book series. It was dreadful.

Robert Jordan did the same thing a few decades later, now that I think of it.

I still haven't made it through thte whole Wheel of Time series. I've tried 4 times to read through it and I always get bogged down around book 5.

MSNBC is reporting that the missing Malaysia Air 777 ceased to exist because of global warming.

(Ok, I'm kidding. What they *actually* reported was that it was hijacked by racists who watch FOX News.)

Yes, yes, the previous post was completely in jest. We all know that the missing 777 is hiding behind Rosie O'Donnell's fat ass.

Actually the missing plane was beamed up by the Enterprise after the pilots spotted the Enterprise in order to avoid the obvious violation(s) of the Prime Directive.

The plane will be returned by the Enterprise after everyone on the plane has been exposed to the "memory eraser" that the Enterprise crew stole from the Men In Black (in a previous episode).

Michelle has said that no press is allowed on her trip to China. This **PROVES** the Obamas are behind the
missing plane.

How can anyone dictate where the press is allowed, short of one's home?

They can dictate who gets on their plane.

Sure, but if they get on their own plane, they can't stop that.

True but chances are the President's wife plane is not going to land at a public airport. Because of security
there is probably restrictions on who can get near her or the buildings she is in. In other words no access.

But as Obama has said, this is the most transparent administration.

It's pretty transparent. They transparently spend $10,000,000 of taxpayer money on each of their lavish vacations, and the liberal media transparently downplays it.

Mooch thinks she's royalty. I think she should be treated like royalty -- specifically, like French royalty circa 1793.

As a german native, I remember from my childhood in the 80s that we had huge amounts of snow, went downhill on sledges at the "hills"of our local town and wearing snow boots. I did not need to buy snow boots for my son in the last three winters, we had about half a day of snow this winter. Even the Harz mountains had not had the amount of snow they are used to. About no snow the previous winter, but snow on easter weekend last year, which is rather uncommon here. In the last 5 years we had one winter I'd call "normal" with huge amounts of snow. While we had at least one ultra hot summer with people collapsing due to the heat.

This spring, one of our local dams is filled to around 38% while it should be at about 80%.

So, without any scientific research, it seems to me that most of the predictions about warmer winters seem not to have failed. But what makes this list ridiculous is that it does not cite any sources with facts that prove the predictions wrong. Also, there are studies from 2004 predicting weather of 2024 which are considered "failed". That is pretty impressive reasoning.

I'll have a little more faith in climate predictions when meteorologists can tell me with a reasonable degree of accuracy whether it'll rain tomorrow...

triL - It is guaranteed to rain tomorrow.. Somewhere in the world.

Does that work?
