Moron has-been musician that some bigger moron had the moronity to bestow knighthood upon (aka Sir Bob Geldof) has declared that all humans will die in 2030. You know, because of global warming. And because Geldof is, like, a climate scientist in his spare time or something.

Meanwhile, the climate change alarmists are falling all over themselves trying to explain away the latest data which shows that warming has stopped, polar ice sheets are expanding, Cincinnati is not underwater, etc. etc. etc.

Hey, BTW, which one's Pink? I am glad he has it figured out. Many years ago Algore said we only had ten years
left. I think that leaves us about 2½ on Algore time. Near the end of the sixties Solent Green predicted crops
would be wiped out by the end of the eighties, and Tiny Tim sang about the melting of the ice caps in 1967.

I think the world will end at 03:14:07 UTC on Tuesday, 19 January 2038.

No, Cincinnati is not underwater. Detroit, however, is. Just ask anyone with a house mortgage in that hell-town.... ;)

Surprisingly, Geldof is not a total commie. He believes in AGW, so he's wrong about that, but his political views seem to be all over the map, even with respect to energy. He actually seems to be pro-nuclear, which is refreshing: "In the UK, we'll soon have to scramble for more nuclear power. On this issue, I don't care what anyone says: we're going to go with it, big-time. We may mess around with wind and waves and other renewable energy sources, trying to make them sustainable, but they're not. They're Mickey Mouse."

Well, for some, there is nothing higher than 2,147,483 after that there is nothing.

Nothing other than overflow and free pipes.  Oh, that and the bats.  I guess I am not looking forward to the bats.

"Today, [social security disability insurance] serves nearly 12 million people -- up 20 percent int he last six years -- and has a budget of $135 billion. That's more than the government spent last year on the Department of Homeland Security, the Justice Department, and the Labor Department combined."

Free Pipes would be a great name for a band.

The federal government has a monthly debt service obligation (the interest on the national debt) of right around $22 billion.

The monthly revenue coming into the federal government is, on average, around $230 billion.

Seems to me that the government can, and ***should*** go onto a "cash basis" pay-as-you-go system and **not** raise the debt ceiling at all.

It might hurt a bit at first, which is the case with any truly needed belt-tightening.

But in 20 years they would look back and call it the Smartest Government Move of the Century.

Couldn't tell you. However my position on the government "shutdown" has not changed since the Clinton days, if not longer.

I was getting on the thruway and the music stations had commercials. I turned over to Rush and a caller said
the same exact thing you did.

Displaying all of that common sense makes you a racist. But you knew that.
