You forget every year.  It's part of the tradition.  Makes it that much more rewarding  :)

35 years ago today, John Lennon was shot and killed by Yoko Ono as a publicity stunt.

(Mark David Chapman was framed.)

Extra reason to have forgotten it this year. But, I'll explain what I mean by that in another room.

When I was growing up there was a question that people would ask, "If you were stranded on an island and only had five albums to listen to what would those five albums be?"  (ignore the fact you have no electricity or any other problems with being stranded.)

Now with portable audio players you can have hundreds of albums on a very small device.  You no longer have to have five favorite albums.  Damn you technology, why can't you think of the Chuck Nolands of the world?

Now ... can we PLEASE scrub the entire universe of those AWFUL duets, and just play Nat King Cole's music in its original form from now on? kthxbye.

Wait... David Bowie died?

Sean Penn was a distraction. It was actually David Bowie who alerted the authorities to El Chapo's exact location. El Chapo's hombres killed him off fast and made up the cancer story as another distraction.

"If you're sad today, just remember the world is over 4billion years old and you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie"

Y'see, that's the thing. I didn't think David Bowie could die at all.

I mean, it seemed to me, from what some of the frothing-at-the-mouth types would say of him, he had the unholy forces of hell sustaining his life permanently.

It shatters me to know he was only human.

One reddit poster quipped, "I can't believe Davie Bowie died before Keith Richards."

Keith Richards cannot die; he is already zombified.

So yesterday they had that annual lip syncing competition with a few hours of sportsball before and after it.

All I could think was, "Beyonce, please put some clothes on, you're embarrassing yourself."

Also, ColdPlay continues to just be nothing more than U2 with the cool bass lines and the political whining removed.  Ugh.

StuporBowl halftime shows are always an odd mix of trivia and horrible music.

They always remind me of "Olympic Games Opening Ceremonies Gone Bad."

But then... John Williams already composed that...
