Wouldn't it make more sense if the year started on a solstice?

A year later and still nothing has been done to change the start of a new year or stopping the time changing crap.

The new decade starts next year, 2021.  (Next year I will say it started in 2020.)

So you're saying that if I had been born today 1/1/20, I'll celebrate my 10th birthday on 1/1/31, how does that work?

The pedantry about the beginning of decades/centires/millenia is rooted in the theory that neither the Julian nor the Gregorian calendar had a year 0.
The people who push this nonsense are anti-vaxxers who believe that Pluto is not a planet.

Very succinctly cleared up.

Thanks IG

It's great to know that old friends like you are still along for the ride.
Having an online community like this is a true source of joy.

And since you were wondering: we opened our doors to the world on March 10, 1988. To think about what we were able to do on the truly awful technology of the day. Now we have the whole Internet, and in the future we look forward to even more reach when Citadel eventually joins the Fediverse.

I raise a toast to you all, the people who truly make it happen. But please make mine a Gin & Tonic because I really don't care for champagne.
