You actually use a DVD player?  Most people i know ( including myself ) have moved to digital. The only time i use a DVD/BR drive is to rip something i have bought that i cant find a pirated copy of. ( same for music i do buy from independent artists, and the few times they dont offer downloads, ill dig out the drive out of the closet but its rare. )

Ya ya, bla bla piracy..  But if i own the disk they can suck it.

No. While I have a DVD player, that's all I do with it, have it. Just the other night I found that I was too lazy to go to my living room, retrieve a DVD that I own, load it into the bedroom DVD player and watch it. Instead it was more attractive for me to simply click "rent" with my remote and pay $5 bucks to watch something I already have.

but you know what is funny? the citadel groupware will be forever in my heart as citadel 128 was one of the transports I used in my hight school days. fast forward, tons of readable content I contributed went to fecesbook and other content aggregators. I have decided to cultivate my content to a higher degree. If you want to read what I have to say, you can find it at citadel.smashbot.com.

I will still actively participate in the forums here and elsewhere, but in a teaser/reveal fashion. Content is king.

That was a problem i ran into back in the 80s. Hard to spread the wealth.

"Linked/Shared Floors" coming back might help that.

I did not. That is hilarious. All the people who worked and paid for their tickets have seats that give them all an equitable view.

didja happen to notice that the equality and equity scenarios both happen to have hobo kids watching the game from over a fence without purchasing a ticket to have a seat?

This store being 300 feet from my office is not helping things at all.

By the way, couldn't help but to notice the name. The wall paper in the place has the "Jersey Mike's Story" on it for you to read while standing in line. Does anyone in here "know" these people?

IG?

I highly recommend sandwich #12, the "Cancro Special". Served "Mike's Way" (oil and vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano, onions, lettuce and tomato) of course.

Sadly, I am unable to draw any connections between their family and mine.
I'm sure there is some common lineage somewhere, but I am unable to find it.

mmm ... sandwiches

I saw two dogs running around in a neighborhood together. Clearly they had gotten loose accidentally because I saw the presumed owner trying to catch them. They seemed to be having a grand old time.

It may be difficult to understand the parallel, but all day I have had "Suburbia" by The Pet Shop Boys playing in my head, on repeat.

Years ago the meter reader left our gate open. Let the dogs out.

20 mins later, 'ok guys' only one came in. 2 were missing.   Went to look for them, they had gone down to the park to play and were heading back already.

The good thing about spending time with your dogs on local walks is that if they get out, many will just do "The circuit"... some dogs just get out and run where ever their paws lead them, though - and that generally ends up badly.

We had a dog, a "rescue". I was dropping my kid off at Kindergarten and this thing that looked like a cross between an elkhound and a coyote was running around the parking lot. I opened the tailgate and called her to jump in. She did, I went to close it, she jumped out. I was like, "Ok... that was your chance." Then I opened the back door to put something in, and she jumped in the back seat, and laid down and looked at me, "Ok, this is better."

Drove home, called my wife, told her "We have a new dog," wife said, "We already have two big dogs, we're leaving for Ohio soon, we're not taking a 3rd dog with us..." I said, "Wait til you see this dog..."

So, we found out she had a chip, it was never registered, called the people who put the chip in, they figured out the owner and gave me his number. About this time, I noticed a frayed nylon rope around her neck.

Called the owner, and he lived WAY out, 25 miles away, in a very Hispanic neighborhood - chainlink fences around every house, pitbulls running the streets - I used to score weed there when I was a kid. I could imagine the bare dirt yard she was staked to a rope in the middle of, patchy overgrown weeds at the fringes. He answered, and sounded like a cliche - one of those "stereotypes exist for a reason," confirmations.

"You're lucky we found you, we're leaving for Ohio tomorrow, we were just going to take her...."

"Yeah, where are you?"

I told him and he was like, "What? She ran 25 miles in one day?" If you want her, you can *!@#in' keep her..."

So... we did.

In Ohio, we were taking a trip to Disneyworld - and the neighbor had a literal pack of dogs. He offered to keep her for us. I told him, "Don't let her off the leash, she is a runner. You'll lose her."

He responded, "once she identifies with the pack, she won't leave."

"Just don't let her off the leash, OK?"

So, first night, we get a call from this guy, "So... I let your dog off the leash with the pack, and she ran off..."

Someone found her, and somehow she got back to him.

Two days later, "I let her off the leash again, she ran again."

Found her again that time. He didn't let her off the leash after that.
