Would you like to be put in your special place, zooer?

Is there a special place for anyone in this hell?

Whoever invented autocorrect should be sent to he'll.

Right... so this room doesn't get picked up by any search engines for its materials, right?

If so, I do have something appropriate for this room to relate involving lawyers and previous employement (although I've done nothing wrong, but where lawyers for unscrupulously wealthy businessmen are concerned, this hardly matters).

It was open for a while but it's since been closed up again. Not visible to search engines.

Some background...

At my previous job, the CEO made a poor decision to embrace the assistance of certain businessmen from Texas. I didn't read any of the paperwork involved, or wasn't in on an of the conversations that took place, so I don't know who could have thought what, but given past conversations with the CEO, I know he would not have parted with his intellectual property without having everything tied in a nice bow, legally. I also know he wouldn't consider parting with it unless the amount paid addressed his losses, so he would at least come out even, if not a bit ahead.

I think these guys, though, intended to try and pressure him out of it for significantly less, and came into the business relationship with poor intentions.

There were also a lot of lies, I'm sure.

Fast forward to today, and they're still trying to take his property, but with lawyers. Their first round of lawyers made it clear that they don't have a case, but it hasn't deterred them. They hired more lawyers. It's kind of funny, when I still hear their words ringing in my ears, about how much they hated lawyers, but how quickly they're trying to work with them now to steal this stuff.

The new round of lawyers have it rough, though. They probably have about a month or two to cobble together something that won't cause the judge to laugh them to scorn.

It was under these desparate measures that I received a phone call at work from some friendly-sounding guy who hoped to get me to say something unpleasant about the CEO.

I didn't bite, of course.

The following day, one of those guys left me a message to call him. He didn't give me any sense of business, or who he was, but I tracked down the number as being from Texas, and did the math. So, of course, I haven't called.

I want nothing to do with any of that mess, and I don't really have anything that would help their case in any event, despite being the primary developer.
They wanted to get me to say that I built a certain tool while under their employment, but in truth, the tool already existed, and I only performed maintenance... so that won't work. Besides, the idiots hadn't clarified the relationship at the time, so ... they basically paid my salary for nothing. That's their fault, for not coming into things with clean hands.

And, I guess, that's what the previous lawyers are trying to tell them.

All of this said, I can confidently say nobody came out of that entire mess without loss. But at least the rest of us were honest about it, heh.

Yeesh. So you should be an anonymous source, and tell them off-the-record, all sorts of bizarre and irrelevant things. After all, if the CEO spends his lunch hour playing Candy Land and/or Chutes and Ladders with the CTO, the public needs to know these things.

Hieroglyphics are simply an ancient dialect of LISP.

2017 can .goto Hell> and stay there.

Although it wasn't all bad - I had some really awesome breakthrough moments and relationship-wise things are changing MUCH for the better -

my younger brother decided to be a total and complete PUKE on Christmas Eve (no great surprise to anyone who knows him.) Kind of ruined the day for everyone. The night ended with a cop telling him he had to leave my parents' house...
