Arthritis is teh sux0r, and the zinc injury might be that. But maybe you're now a sacrificial anode!

Generally, the remaining family can either choose to keep them, or let the creamation facility send them off for metal recycling.  When my grandpa died, we had his metal bits sent off for recycling.

So .... on Tuesday I was flying down a 2-lane country road in the middle of nowhere at 75mph (speed limit was 70) and then some idiot pulled out in front of me ... at a crazy distance of roughly 200 feets.  I slammed on the brake and punched the horn.  Last night I complained to my mom about the pain and we went to Texas MedClinic in New Braunfels (the one in Selma had a 3 hour wait time, screw that).  Got some high-energy ionizing photons from a roentgenograph and it turns out I broked a bone - distal end of right fifth metatarsal, aka "boxer's fracture" and got a splint.

This mewning we went to Baptist Health System Orthopedic Specialty.  Went from a splint to a brace.  The brace has a serial number.  wtf?  A serial number for a temporary medical device?  Anyway, has another appointment in 3 weeks.  I didn't work today, but I wonder if I can work with this thing.  Ah well, I worked for a couple days with an untreated broken paw, I can do it with the brace, right?

Why do I sometimes get ragey when I have to slow down while en route?  Because then I have to accelerate back up to speed, and that costs gas, and in case y'all hadn't noticed already, GAS AIN'T CHEAP.

Interesting that just the slow down caused the fracture.  Wouldn't think there would be enough force for that.

But, thankfully you didnt hit him.. would have been far worse :(              ( i used to drive WAY too much, so i have been in more than one car wreck. Always been the other person's fault, but that is little consolation if you are dead )

I know the ATF wants to crack down on ghost guns but this is ridiculous!

I took it that it was punching the horn that did it, hence the "boxer's fracture". She effectived had a boxing match with her steering wheel.

Ah I was just thinking the force of slowing down while holding the wheel. But i bet you are right.

People have broken arms and hands by gripping too hard and then an impact, and i have been lucky. its why i always am sure my hands will slip off if im hit, again.

Ya, it was punching the horn button on the wheel that caused the bone break.  Scion xB has good brakes, so I avoided a collision.  Toyota brakes are no joke, they have serious stoppering power.

Unrelated to healthy but brakes..

interstate one morning, 2 cars decided to kiss each other right in front of me. We were all doing about 70. hit the brakes.... floor board  ( turned out i popped a line ).. 2 more cars hit and everyone bouncing around the lanes. i got to swerve thru them like a video game.  concrete retaining walls so no where to go.

Still dont know i snaked thru them.....

Been neat to see it on camera, afterward.

Oooooh. My daughter got one of those when she got into a fight with an elliptical exercise machine and lost.

She's no longer a fan of hotel exercise rooms.

Doctor thinks its an "impact triggered osteoporosis joint event".   xray to verify it wasn't out of socket or broke but they never called back with results.  Got home from blood work after the xray, took some steroids he gave me "in case im right, your can start tomorrow". And a Hydrocodone and Dramamine ( was already throwing up from the pain ) slept 3 hours.. its actually improved.  Still hurts but i dont want to take an axe to it now.

This actually hurt worse than when i shattered my radius bone..

I really hope this never happens again....

So 3 days of taking prednisone,  you dont feel so well. But its helping the foot, so its a compromise. Lesser of evils i guess.
