Its all over YouTube. Reliable people broke the news few days ago. ( like 'guns & gadgets' )  Also Matt Gaetz was talking about it in an interview on fox, and hes going to try to stop it.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyGlmSHdANs )

What? Source? IRS is a private org, not even American owned I don't think. Which, by the way, is sketchy as hell if true.

Apparently it may be. But courts have upheld its authority. It depends on who you ask on what you get, but this seems the most coherent and non-biased statement i have seen so far.  But even if they are in effect an independent contractor, the treasury does have the authority to enforce tax law, so by default so do their contractors when they act on the behalf of the treasury..

Tho that does mean IRS people better not be getting government pensions on our dime...

_____

The IRS is a bureau of the U.S. Department of Treasury and considers itself a "tax administrator" that works under the direction of the Secretary of the Treasury. So rather than be "owned" by the Treasury, the IRS "works for" the Treasury.

The IRS has repeatedly argued that, even though Congress did not create the IRS through an act, it is a government agency. It cites the 1971 Supreme Court case Donaldson v. the United States, in which the court ruled the IRS is allowed to administer internal revenue laws as an agency would. Also, the IRS points out that the U.S. Code grants the Secretary of the Treasury full authority to enforce tax law and to appoint an agency to do so.2

So after the push to eliminate production of ammo for us citizens, they are now pressuring shipping companies ..

"See, we followed the rules, we didnt take your rights.. we just stopped ammo production, and shipping of firearms and parts to you, or your local dealer"

Great, more ammo for the anti-gunners this weekend.  Already being politicized by the prick-in-chief out in DC.

Maybe. On the other hand - Illinois, antifa weirdo, attacking a Fourth of July parade... could get memory holed.

It is important to remain vigilent, but I think gun control might be dead in this country. After the summer of love, "defund the police," and now multiple school shootings where the cops hung around outside and watched. Even the left, however misdirected their fears may be, are starting to figure out that only they are their own first responders.

This spring was looking for a collapsible baton. Would be For taking with me on dog walks. in case we run across a loose dog, i would use it to keep teh dog at bay.  Normally carry a stick, got tired of that. Looked and looked but could not find any. "wtf'.  Ran across an ad: "extendable walking stick"..  ah, so they have to call them that in ads to get past the censors. lol.   They were careful not to show the box, which said that evil word baton..

Today looking for some lightweight ballistic plates ( since they are about to be banned here soon i suspect ). Same problem. None.  Then ran across this: "tactical weight vests'  ..  Sad state of affairs.

You're sure that's not just a plate carrier? Are you armoring up for the impending boog? I've thought about looking into armor, but then I'm not so sure it would ever be of any use to me. I'm no tough guy body builder ex marine type, I'm a small statured cubicle nerd. I can't imagine any scenario where armor wouldn't just immobilize me and I wouldn't be better off without it.

No, its the actual plates.  They sell them "by the pound", which is really funny.

I dont think if it would immobilize you with a properly fitting vest.    Sure, you wont win any Tiquando or wrestling contest, and its not like wearing a winter jacket, but you wouldn't be frozen in place either.

Oh, and not really arming up for the coming 'event'. Since i am seeing several states starting to work to ban them ( and now that UPS is being a butthead ) figured i might as well get the 2nd set of plates for my wife's vest before it becomes more difficult.

And ya, i could make my own if i needed to, but with the cost of steel going up, I figure the longer i wait the more $ it will be.  And the plates are pre-cut.    So double reason to grab a pair this weekend.

Because they want to be able to shoot you. The Buffalo, NY guy was wearing armor that supposedly saved him from a couple of pistol shots to the chest, and so a lot of politicians are now running with that as a good cause to ban armor.

I continue to just be stunned at how blatantly open they are in their admission that the goal is for them to be able to shoot you, but they don't want you to be able to shoot them, and that people don't recognize that.

New ban in committee.   Pretty much every semi auto in existence, gone, if it comes out as it is rumored. And since senate does not have the votes, whatever comes out will get signed into law.  sure may be unconstitutional, but it will take decades to get struck down, and millions of dollars spent.

I keep saying by end of term there will be nothing left ( or civil war ).  no one believes me

HR 1808.   Ban it all.

And since Democrats have majorities, and Republicans are pussy traitors, it will pass and be put into law before the end of the month.  ( sort of what i was predicting 6+ months ago " by the elections " )

Sure, its unconstitutional, but it will take decades to be struck down.  And when it does, they will just do it again.  There really should be a penalty for legislators who's laws clearly violate the Constitution. Sure, accidents can happen, but they should be *required* to do due-diligence before submitting anything to committee.  And any committee submission should have their explanation of why they feel it is. Needs to be in writing, and severe penalties.  Another dropped ball by our founders.

I looked up that bill. It's been in the works for over a year now, so I don't get the impression it has a lot of steam behind it. If they're bringing it to a vote any time soon, it's only because of opportunistic timing.

Why do you say it will take decades to be struck down? It didn't take decades for the vaccine mandate to be struck down, or the rent moratorium, or the bump stock ban.

What was the other ball dropped by our founders? I thought the last time you mentioned that, it was the same conversation (that there's no repercussion for enacting unconstitutional laws), and as I pointed out then, that's not on the founders, that ball was dropped in the passing of several of our many voting rights amendments.

Ben Franklin said they gave us "a Republic, if you can keep it." We lost it long after he was dead.

They will never ban semi-autos. The only reason that has any illusion of support behind it is because people are uneducated. If you ask any random person on the street whether they thing one-trigger=one-bullet should be banned, the vast majority of them would say no, and anyone who says yes is part of the minority who thinks all guns should be banned. Most of the uneducated masses think that AR-15s and "semi-automatic" are machine guns.

According to what i'm reading, it comes out of committee for a vote next week and they want ti in the senate immediately. They are pushing it hard now.  "hurry while we still can".

While i agree vax mandates and such did get struck down quickly, they were not laws. They were simple polices. Far faster and easier.

Yes one of the 2 major balls i see our founders dropped,  mandating term limits ( they never dreamed people would make careers out of it, it was so repulsive to them ) and putting law makers on the hook for stepping out bounds.    Yes, we can 'vote them out', in theory at least.  We need hard walls to keep these scumbags in line. Like any other criminal, they wont follow the rules.

And I also agree that most people lack basic understanding, but that does not make them any less dangerous as they will support the stuff and cheer when the people they elected 'do things'..  "Uniformed" and susceptible to rhetoric is how we got to where we are with the collapse of society.

And yes, i do see the dark side of things. I do miss a few things, for the short term: "see it wasn't that bad " but over the long term, im normally right, as they never ever stop eating at us...
