What I'm coming around to is the thought that the CIA has pretty much been in charge of everything since the 1960s. They are basically identical to the KGB. In retrospect, what did we think would happen? We built an agency designed to subvert foreign governments, so it was inevitable that they'd eventually subvert our own.

I don' think it is making the great news anywhere, but Putin is rebuilding the Warsaw Pact at blazing speed. North Korea and Afghanistan (Afghanistan!) are already signed in, and China was doing drills with their troops in Belarus close to Poland.

Meanwhile, what I see in Western news instead is that Russia is gonna lose because they use outdated technology. The mantra is crazy. Like stations showing footage of Russian attack helicopters and people commenting those things are too old to be any use. Sorry, no: those models are newer than Apaches and can carry tonnes in fuel-air bombs.

I was playing an old (as in 1995) game in which you lead North Koreans assault squads against South Koreans. The game has parodic communistic vibes. One of the missions is to lead an incursion aganst a South Korean TV station . "Our Glorious Leader needs you to lead our glorious troops in a mission to stop corrupt fascist TV stations from spreading lies and propaganda." The mission briefing gave me a lot of pause because Western media is a lies and propaganda machine, actually. I enjoyed blasting the TV station.

Seems Putin is getting annoyed at NATO.   Might be seeing some retaliation soon.     If he does, it will spiral out of control quickly.   Just in time for elections.

I read it on a couple of news services that he was threatening to move nukes or something if they didn't back off.  

And if it disrupts the elections to keep trump out, he would be all for it.   Our elections effect them too.
