You are not a 'professional windows developer' either i assume.
He is, he should know this.

Nope, I live in the embedded space. I can barely even drive Windows anymore, I've been using Linux exclusively for so long. But I do work with some fellow "embedded software developers" who have absolutely no clue what a mutex is or how to use one. Worse, they think they do. I've asked my manager before if we could ban some individuals from ever checking in code that contains a pthread_create(). Sadly that didn't take.
Assuming you are not kidding. Its a convention for network shares: "Universal Naming Convention" It gets you out of stupid drive letters

Thu Jun 02 2022 02:18:50 PM EDT from LadySerenaKittyI drive FreeBSD. All my dev stuffs is on FreeBSD. WTF is a UNC path?
So one of my tasks is creating KPI reports for the org. ( mostly automated.. but i still manage the thing ) One thing we include is up-time of applications. To date, no one has figured out how to automate collection from Mainframe apps, so they give them to us manually.
This month the manager that gives us that data: " i dont know why we are reporting on this, it isn't our app and we dont even know what it is" ( slightly paraphrased ).. wtf.. you have been giving me data.
Freaking liars.
Email from the president of my vendor for the software i support "do you have 10 minutes later today to bring you up to speed on some exciting news?"
Ya, they sold out.
Strange thing is they sold out to a 'holdings company' who does nothing other tan buy smallish software companies. They provide no products of value of their own. They have at least 40 holdings in various industries, but all software related.. And that company is owned by parent 'shell'.. Who owns 6 companies, who sole purpose is also to buy others.. Between the 6 there must be 1000 entities..
The top parent company and the 6 subsidiaries web info is mostly "how can we buy you" "we never sell what we buy, come join us" ( oh and their web pages SUCK )
Seems like a pyramid scheme to me.
"you now have 3 weeks to complete xyz for HR" "um, months ago we were told it was optional" "no, its mandatory, you have 3 weeks left... "
grrrr

Yay tomorrow is Monday, back to work day!.
( that was sarcasm, for those that dont know me )
Does your office not get Monday off for Juneteenth? What do they hate black people or something?
Actually i'm not sure. Its a federal holiday now right? Normally we honor those. But it might not happen until next year.
So someone rolled out a patch by mistake this morning. Killed SCOM enterprise wide. Has to be rebuilt from scratch no rollback possible. ( i would think just restore the last backup... but what do i know.. even if its a week old, still better than a complete restart.. )
There goes a few people's holiday weekend.
Well, he just fell off my list of people i admire. Hes not as smart as he thinks he is, and is a freaking jerk. I hope his best talent give him the finger, start their own company, and crush him.
One example, "everyone must be in the office AT LEAST 40 hours a week", and you have to "swipe your badge, or you have to justify with your manager why you didnt"
Another:
"Musk has previously hit out against remote working policies and blasted Americans for 'trying to avoid going to work at all' and compared them to staff in China who stay at the factory 'burning the 3am oil'.
In April, staff at Tesla's Gigafactory were made to sleep at work when production resumed after a three-week shutdown.
The factory started operating as a 'closed loop system to avoid further shutdowns caused by China's strict Zero Covid policy.
Workers were given a sleeping bag and mattress and part of the factory floor to camp out on. "
At the risk of inviting criticism from IG, I view Trump the same way. I will side with him for as long as he appears to be operating in accordance with my agenda and values, but I will also watch him like a hawk. I love when he makes the heads of my enemies explode, but that doesn't necessarily mean that I trust him.
I think trump proved his sincerity with his actions. He made a lot of promises, and followed thru on them. ( or at least tried, many were blocked, but he did try ), His history is pretty solid too. I think he does love this country, but ya hes not stupid, and knows all ships rise with the tide, including his.. and yes, you watch everyone.
Musk, clearly is a prick that is only in it for himself.

Be careful with Musk. He makes for some good popcorn entertainment, but
he is not our friend, for any interpretation of "our".
Bingo. Nobody likes him. Not the left, not the right, not the center.
Not even Amber Heard.

You seem to have misspelled "Amber Turd"
Fri Jul 22 2022 09:07:29 EDT from IGnatius T FoobarHehe. Everyone calls her that now, even people not normally into that kind of talk. :)
Because it was such a bombshell revelation during the trial. It was the one single thing that made everyone hate her, and that was before they started talking about all the abuse.
She deserves the name of Amber Turd, because she used the bed as a litterbox instead of the actual litterbox out of revenge.
