That's why we have GPS in our mobiles: "The killer is 17,3 meters away!"

So I'm looking at the trailers for "San Andreas" and trying to understand why it's being called a disaster movie. The idea of kommunist kalifornia's biggest cities getting demolished doesn't seem to have any downside.

True.

Maybe they should start fixing the problem by getting rid of George Clooney.

Neill Blomkamp, famous for District 9 (and maybe Elysium and Chappie) is working on an Alien sequel. I am not the biggest fan of the whole Alien and Predator franchise, but you can not ignore them either. I do very much like District 9 and I hope his Alien might be very entertaining.

Wait... George Martin is involved in Game of Thrones? Is that the same George Martin who worked at Mad Magazine, with the stylized character extending a pinky, etc.?

Oh, no... wait... that's Don Martin. Never mind.

Oh, and Game of Thrones is a television show, isn't it?

I swear, I haven't started that drinking regimen I suggested in the Health and Wellness room.

Alien(s.*)? I'm kinda still stuck as Alfred Hitchcock movies.

If you've seen the original, you've seen them all.

Prometheus set a lot of high expectations for the latest film--which it failed to live up to. :-/

Evidently there is an upcoming movie on the Hallmark Channel that features both Lee Majors *and* Lindsay Wagner. But neither of them is bionic. What the ACTUAL fuck were they thinking?!?

I think the walkers are bionic, or the tennis balls on the rear legs are radioactive.

That channel is on in my home more than I care to admit. They have a lot of mystery genre stuff which my wife likes to watch. I'm not so sure about any mystery that doesn't include a talking Great Dane.

I know I'm a few months late for this, but we've started watching the new season of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

For some reason, I thought it was doing to be difficult to stream.  I had contributed to the Kickstarter and during the end of the campaign they were talking about all sorts of hoops we might have to jump through to gain access to the show, but it seems that the final answer is "it's on Netflix."  Duh.

Yes, it is completely worthy of being called MST3K.  The sets and puppetry are just cheesy enough, the jokes and writing are just bad enough, and they have managed to capture the spirit of the older seasons even though it had been off the air for nearly two decades.

"Buttman’s ‘Justice League’ Tanks at Box Office"  [ http://tinyurl.com/yd5r94dx ]

Is it any surprise?

All these years, they haven't made a Batman movie with the ONE TRUE BATMAN: Adam West.

And now that the One True Batman has passed into the bat-afterlife, they'll never have an opportunity to make a good Batman movie again.

This is a ha-ha-only-serious bit on my part.  I do think the "Caped Crusader" Batman was a far more interesting and entertaining superhero than the brooding emo "Dark Knight" Batman.
