"FlyFi" is satellite. "GoGo" is air-to-ground. A quick web search suggests that they may be starting to do a bit of satellite for overseas flights, so if you were flying over water you might have been lucky enough to be on an aircraft that has both antennas.

I've come to look at airline travel as an ideal time to read/listen to a book and/or fall asleep. Beyond that I'm not too certain.

The last time I flew through SLC it was on my way to a client in Reno. The SLC airport is immaculately clean, kid friendly (play areas, etc..) and all family oriented. I hadn't made it off the jetway in Reno before I saw ads for casinos, night clubs and gentleman's clubs and could hear the slot machines that were stationed at the gate. I remember thinking to myself.. "Damn. I'm not in Salt Lake City anymore.."

A satellite, or a satellite dish? :) I'd love to have a satellite, especially if it had auto-targeting laser weapons... :)

Tomorrow is March 10. There are at least three birthdays of note tomorrow (one thankfully posthumous). Who can name them, along with the correct ages?

Well to be fair knowing my birthday is easy.

Chuck Norris.

Prince Edward

Osama Bin Laden

Okay, it is a belated birthday for me because you missed it.

Anniversaries are not the same as birthdays.   But happy binary bits anniversary to a collection of ones and zeros that are contained within this file.

Prince Edward is irrelevant because he is still in the can (also I didn't vote for him). Osama is the one I was thinking of because my daughter keeps telling me that she has the same birthday as him. Didn't know about Chuck Norris but that's pretty awesome.

But yes, tomorrow (March 10) is 15 years for my little girl and 32 years for Uncensored. I was told there would be cake.

I was told there would be cheese steak sandwiches.

Happy Birthday to your daughter.

Remember pie is a superior option over cake.

Consider yourself invited to a virtual cake made of bits.

As a Unixhead, you're well aware of the kill command.

I've been working on the smite command.

The smite command would:

  • Kill your running process(es)
  • Remove your account from the system
  • Tie into the orbital satellite laser platforms to target you and remove you from the planet

Unfortunately, I've been unsuccessful in my attempts to correctly access the orbital satellite laser platform APIs, thus far.

I thought entering the command would kill the person that entered it, that doesn't seem like fun.  Are there command line options to kill other users?

If you kill their parent process (probably login tty or getty) they will no longer be there.
