I have yet to run afoul of this new guy. I've been fucking with Lewis Hamilton and his supporters ruthlessly all week. It is inevitably soon.
The phone scammers are getting more sophisticated. I've received a few calls from "Citibank" attempting to "confirm" a $1498 charge to my credit card.
I don't have a Citibank credit card, but the scammers seem to know my real name. So I guess they're using a "marketing database" purchased from someone slightly higher on the scumbag ladder.
The first time they called, they attempted to address me by name a minute or so into the call. The second time, they determined that I was messing with them when I gave them a name other than the one they had.
"Can I have your first name please?"
"Yes, my name is Ben."
"Ben? And is your last name Chod?"
"Yes it is."
"You're not funny." <<click>>
I guess a lot of people are using that gag now, or I've worked my way through all of the call centers over the past year or two. (For those not aware, "benchod" means "sister fucker" in Hindi)

It's ... well, I actually can't figure out what it is. I landed there after following some second-page search results. None of it makes sense, but it's organized, and updated.
The only thing that I can think of is that it's an auto-generated content farm that someone plugged a few search terms into (howto and puppies) and it then goes out and plagiarizes randomly searched text and images, puts together well-formed but incoherent blog articles, and tosses on a couple of ads?
I thought this was probably done by some basement dwellers in a third world dump, but it's even worse -- the IP address maps to a company called "Internet Brands" in California.

I have not visited the site because I value my sanity too much, but I have detected some more sites using the sort of business model you describe.
I don't why it surprises you it comes from California. California is a big source of evil these days.

I do run TOR from a disposable VM, but the TOR aspect of it is more about hiding from ISP and obscuring myself from the server.
I was thinking more along the lines of preventing infection. Disposal VM from a public access site = zero risk.
So you tube is now removing Shawn Woods' mouse videos, if he had water in the bucket. Don't get me wrong i dont agree with killing them unless you have no choice, but it was not like he was taking them and beating them with a hammer on camera. Idiots.
And noticed another batch of 'home made weapons' videos vanished. Waiting for science videos to banish too ( like making rocket fuel, or sarin gas ). Oh and a 30 round magazine, gets your video removed too.

The winning formula right now seems to be, publish on all sites, and make sure (in the video and in the description) that your viewers know where else to find you. The IGlet is doing this now, and he mainly just makes videos of trains and elevators.
