Support for a two-state solution is a rhetorical fig-leaf at this point. It costs nothing to give it lip service, doesn't commit you to anything because it's never actually going to happen, and might make you look good in the eyes of some.
I suppose, in a sense, it's worth reiterating; the 2-state is the only framework for peace that would be acceptable to the Israeli side (in some alternate universe where the Pals could be trusted that far, which they can't) but it would never be acceptable to the Pal side, so, it costs you nothing to reiterate your position and sorta calls on the Pals to do something that we know they won't do.
But it's ultimately somewhere between "not very meaningful" and "a sick joke."
Anyway, I sent a message to triLcat a day or two ago. They are safe enough for the moment (physically although not mentally) but her nephews will be deployed soon.
There is no such nation as Palestine. How does one support a place that doesn't exist?

The recent Hamas terror attacks have extinguished any remaining doubt
in my mind that Israel should just completely annex the Gaza Strip
and West Bank. Yeah the UN will whine. So what?
I'm sure it's only a matter of days before the UN officially declares a strong condemnation against Israel for the atrocity of not completely dying off when attacked by terrorists. Pretty much the entire purpose of the UN is to condemn Israel from time to time.
The "two state solution" was a magnanimous thing for Israel to agree to, but in practice it did not work, and it can never work. Because there aren't really "two states". There is one state, and one group of terrorists who are hell-bent on wiping Israel off the map and taking "their" land back. When offered some amount of land to call their own, they literally built a government out of the terrorist organization.
If you look at a map of the Gaza strip, you will see there are only two ways out.
One is blocked by Israel, who don't want terrorists posing as Palestinians to cross over. The other is blocked by Egypt, who don't want terrorists posing as Palestinians to cross over.
Yes, we should support Israel because they are a true ally. The danger is that the usual suspects on our side are using Iran as a proxy to get World War 3 started because it benefits the military-industrial complex. Extremely Evil People such as Nikki Haley and Mike Pence are demanding that we begin global nuclear war immediately.
(Ok that last statement is an exaggeration, but I'll bet they both had to change their undies after considering it.)

I would hate to think that people with certain interests are starting World War III on purpose, either for their financial benefit, or to gain or retain power.

I have noticed a distinct slow change to all outlets starting to blame Israel or at least covertly condemn them for reacting. Sick really.

There is a call for "international jihad day" tomorrow. Who knows if its real and things are actually planned, or just them trying to frighten people, you know how terrorists work. However, several police departments across the country are gearing up, just in case.
I guess the message is 'stay vigilant ' and 'watch your backs' Just in case.
