No, that was Twinkle. hacha was ... hacha. I think THOD was crushing on her for a while, actually. Would be great if she stopped by and said hi.

Twink! I forgot what her real name was. I remember having a great time with her down at the pier.

My Buddy Chris told me to say hi to y'all when I posted about UCG on my fb. Then he got mad when I suggested he sign in and say hi himself. I think his handle was Centurion, he ran the Century BBS, and used to frequently stop by the diner while on break working for EMS. Like I seriously posted, something about UCG turning 30, and suggested people check it out, and got a little miffed at him asking me to play secretary. It's not like a web app account where there are a million fields to fill out before you can logon. Click the link and instead of asking me to relay a message, create an account.

Yeah, we'd love to say hi to Centurion. This is why I fucking hate Facebook, it sucks the life out of all of the *good* places on the Internet.

It's spring here in texas, which is it's own beautiful thing, but I sure miss spring in NY, dogwoods, forsythia, etc.

Don't be so sure about that ... April 6 and it's snowing here in NY today.
There are no dogwoods or forsythia in bloom.

You don't live in Texas. You live in Austin, which is landlocked by Texas.

Well, they went camping in georgetown, AFAIK there is no camping in austin proper unless you count sleeping in somebody's back yard.

For those of you pining for the bad old days of "be kind, rewind"

Blockbuster Video ... yes, they're still around ... is now down to its very last store. There were two in Alaska, where physical rentals were still popular because of expensive Internet, but those two are now closing. There's one store left, located in Bend, Oregon. It's not clear why this store is still open.

Amazon Gov Cloud is in the vicinity. Perhaps the workers there are not allowed to use internet?

I was really sad when our blockbuster closed, but not surprised after how dead it was the last time I went in looking for something.

The value of Blockbuster was the same as the value of Toys R Us, Borders, etc... The ability to browse large numbers of items at the same time without being limited to what was presented to us in a screen without any filtering or inferred limiting or inferred other items we might like. It's just what is there.
