Heh... it's kind of funny that Denny's purchased several of the locations when the corporation started to falter, given Denny's own controversy later in Maryland when they served refuse to some of the black patrons.
It's a shame, though, that Sambo's was associated with the Sambo characters, given that the name was actually a combination of 'SAM' Battistone and Newell 'BO'hnett, the two who started the chain.
