We didn't see any wires down but our neighbors with FiOS were out too. This is the first time in 2.5 years that we've had a problem, so it's a pretty decent track record -- our neighbors with cable have probably had half a dozen outages in that time. When we called they said that our service would be restored at 5:02am. That sounds rather precise so there's probably something that happens at that time (daily re-bork of the head end or something?) ... anyway they lied to us; we got our service back at 4:39am :)
These guys seem to be decent. They're not Onan or Kohler (or overpriced Generac) but they appear to be on a substantially higher tier than the cheap Chinese knockoffs (Durostar, All-Power, etc). I had a nice conversation with one of the guys at the company and I got a good feeling about them. They make replacement parts available, the service manuals are downloadable, and most of the reviews I'm reading around the Internet are positive for both the product and the company.
6500 watts isn't enough to power my whole house but it should be sufficient to run the electric components of our oil furnace, keep the fridge and freezer running, and operate enough lights (and a computer and television) to make the house livable during an outage.
whoa, did uncensored just have a seizure or something??
551 Received unexpected answer from Citadel server; bailing out.
I couldn't get to the home page for a minute or two with the same error.
Happy Nigel Tufnel Day!
But apparently they also like to blow shit up.
I just came across the video for "invincible." I know at least IG will like it.
Side effect: a binge of Ok Go video viewing on youtube.
I love OK Go's videos.
The first one I ever saw was "This too shall pass" (Rube Goldburg Machine) and loved the composition of music into the machine itself (guitar, sub, glasses, etc).
Their single-scene videos are genius (tredmills, dancing in the backyard, etc...)
one of the most artistically-minded bands out there. :D
Glad to see this place is still up and running!
