"The constitution says speech is free, it does not say its anonymous" ( much like the one about 2nd: "it protects your right to own and bare, but does not mention the word purchase" )

I guess their partnerships with the big outlets isn't restricting speech as much as they would like.

Well I prefer not to describe people with divine-sounding phrases;
not even people I like.

That's fair. It's not for me, but it's fair.

There's no doubt about it, however, that President Trump has done more of God's work than any of the swamp-dwelling scumbags like Judas Pence have ever done.

And of course if you search for that google tries to distract you "things are changing rapidly, dont believe what you read and come back in a few days"  lol.

So a bill to help out Israel in the senate, every single democrat voted no.  Unless there was some hidden weirdness in it, which i doubt this time, they are freaking scumbags. "no pork for us, no aid for you"  Unlike Ukraine, Israel wont funnel money back to these scumbag crooks.

....and funny thing i posted this on FB too, and the .gov site was blocking previews.  Seems odd. ( ya ya i know. but its where most people i know hang out, so its my duty to tell them stuff like this )

Hunters attorney wants to subpoena Trump because he "said bad things about his client".  I dont care if you like Trump or not, its freaking free speech.  He needs to counter sue and bankrupt these jokers.

I know its all about trying to distract/wear him down and manipulate public opinion ( which is backfiring ), but this is really getting on my nerves.

All right, it's here, it's happening, it's now.

Former vice president Biden HAS ENACTED THE WARTIME POWERS ACT.

For which war, you might ask? Ukraine? Israel? Of course not! The most important war of all, the war against "climate change"!

I'm not even joking.

Biden, or whoever is puppeteering Biden, has invoked wartime powers to give $169 million to nine projects across 15 locations to speed electric heat pump production. Because that pesky enemy natural gas just won't go away. This money is going to poor starving corporations including Copeland, Honeywell, Mitsubishi, and York.

Remember, kids: we are at war! Global warming is the biggest meanest war enemy of all time! It's such a dangerous war that they will obviously have to suspend the elections next year.

Aside from $ it gives them almost unlimited power..  I expected this. Have for a while.  its not legal, but i knew it was coming.  ( expected something else 'climate related' but still )

Too bad my entire area runs off gas. I guess we freeze and starve next winter?

That was one of the nice things about having gas, my electrical generation needs during power outage is low.   No AC in summer, but we could keep from freezing to death in winter, and still eat, and have hot water. For almost no watts used instead of 1000s.  ( tho true, the fridge and freezer use a lot, but i can cut down on their use enough to 'get by' like we did last time.  )

"The Department of Defense could drop nearly $270 million in taxpayer funds to further the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility agenda from fiscal years 2022 to 2024."

I'm sorry, but no. The job of a military person fundamentally is to protect our country, learn how to destroy the enemy and learn how not be killed themselves in the process. i dont care what/who you are, if you can serve effectively, great, thank you for your service, but if any of that offends you, then you need to find another job as you are simply not qualified  for the position. If you don't, you will the first to die in combat, and we wasted tax dollars on your stupid ass.

Oh, of course they do this three years AFTER I leave.  Guess I'm not getting a free chromebook to hack FreeBSD onto.

O wait, they're HP.  And HP's "chromebook" offering is a $1,000 machine that is absolute potato in every single system spec category, worse even than Acer's $200 chromebook offering.  That makes this an excellent example of government waste.

Fireplaces for the win. It is gonna be very ugly if ir reaches that point, but nearly anything that can be burned may be used in a pitch.

Gardening leftovers, horse dung, pro-democrat newspapers all can be used in a pich and the government can't really control their supply.

I heard neighbors can burn too.

They are working on banning wood burning stoves too. that started a couple of years ago.  Several states went to the fed to complain there was not an all-out ban on them already.

its just the beginning. Eventually it will be managed by the feds, as they really dont want states involved in 'their work'.  I suspect they chose Chromebooks as they can easily 'control' them if its the 'school' version.  They can be much more locked down than windows, and far more easily. They will be giving out millions of them within 10 years. Everyone gets a machine. You get a machine! he gets a machine! they get machines! everyone gets machines! its a birthright! *applause* ( in my best Oprah voice ).

i also suspect the entire broadband thing will be pulled from states and then handled by the FCC directly, due to the recent changes they made where they basically oversee all US internet operations now. it also means their budget increases. RIght now they are giving out money to states that can 'show they need it'. We got a billion if i remember right. created a new agency just for that. 15 employees and counting..

i dont have a problem with a little helping hand for rural areas, but claiming its a human right and mandating things be built using tax dollars.. no.

Also be interesting after the net-takeover and government hardware program is 'fully in place'  if we will be told you are required to use their hardware to get on their network.. you know for 'public safety reasons'.  Or at the least have to have your device 'certified' like you have to have your cars.

------

And an aside on chromebooks, i really liked my little 10" RK3399 Acer book more than most others i have seen or had. Was my personal daily carry for years. Perfect size for me, day long battery, keyboard was perfect for my hands.. Bought it as it was cheap and had a flip screen. Figured it was a gimmick so didnt want to pay much if i hated it but was really curious. Fell in love with it and even forgot i had a tablet within a week ( funny here recently i just dug the tablet out, it still works.. now its runs cat TV .. drop videos on my server for the cat to watch ) ..  My Samsung RK3399 was also good but wasn't quite the same. both out of support now. I do like my 2 ARM lenovos , before the Acer i had a Toshiba that i ended up never using as it was crap and sort of turned me off of chromebooks for a while. ( it was also a x86 )   So much way overpriced garbage out there...  Of course the ones i like are all ARM based, and well made, bla bla. ..  Oh, and my pixelbook i guess is on my list of good machines. but its more of a portable desktop to develop google based apps really. its huge, sucks juice.. has a high end ( for its day ) i7... Not really meant to be a 'nice portable device that runs all day to watch cat videos', so it never really goes anywhere. Wasted purchase.

If they wanna start "certifying" devices on the internet the way cars are certified for roadway use ... part of that will (most likely) include certification of the OS.  Of course macOS and that other weirdly popular one will get certified, but open source?  Nope.  There are people in government who hate open source, as evidenced by the office of open source control that was announced a few months back.

They really are trying hard to get geeks and nerds to rise up and overthrow the government, aren't they?

Its what the UK is heading towards as well, as a "side effect". Big boys bought the laws and if enforced properly only the big boys can play in the sandbox anymore.
