And if they're *really* rabid, they'll get around to "bootlicker" in short order.

One of the quickest ways to lose credibility with me, even if you're on the right, is to start saying "in-group" words or phrases that identify as you a member of a particular tribe of thought.

I agree with a lot of the ideology of the Libertarians - but the Libertarians who use "Statist and Bootlicker," I instantly tune out as a waste of time.

Whenever you hear the word "statist", you know you're dealing with a lolbertarian.

If Ig was in the habit of banning guys for being predictably unagreeable, I'd be long gone. I think he means it when he says, "uncensored." His tolerance for bullshit he disagrees with seems pretty high. Speak your mind.

I'm perfectly ok with it.  Those who have been here a long time know that the vibe shifts into different moods from year to year.  Right now we have a very anti-authoritarian thrust going, but if someone came along and wanted to argue Rachel MadCow's talking points I would welcome it.

I draw the line when someone gets out of control and becomes so disruptive that it interferes with everyone's ability to have a conversation.  And even then, they usually just get their posts diverted to the Trashcan.

Ok, i have many non-straight friends. None of them are activists and just want to be left alone to be themselves. I would never say anything bad about their life choices, and support whatever they want to be.

The activists need to be stopped. They are doing more damage than anything else, and breeding hate against people like my friends, from collateral damage.  This is way over the line, in my opinion.

Speaking of terrorists...

https://www.westernjournal.com/woke-restaurant-adds-new-charge-receipt-sparking-outrage ]

A crappy restaurant in Minneapolis is adding a 15% "equity charge" on every order, basically levying a racism tax on all customers.

Sometimes I'll find myself in a restaurant that does something like "a 15% service charge will be added to all orders of six or more customers" which already seems a bit out of control, because gratuities are supposed to be based on the quality of service, but if a service charge is on the bill, that's all they're getting, no extra tip.   But if a restaurant labeled it a tax on the insufficiently racist, I'd walk out.

I guess if its applied to *every* order, regardless of the customer, its their right. But, i would hope the free market eats them alive and they are out of business by the end of the month.

You are the one who uses phrases and terms that are associated with

in-group identification and group think.

You sound like everyone else who believes what you believe.

I *am* a Statist - and that isn't a bad thing. I believe in a proven

system of society that has existed for all of mankind's history and

creates stability and wealth and leisure and comfort.

You believe in a system of unicorns and Fairyfarts where everyone

follows a NAP and rule of law is unnecessary.

You are the one appliying groupthink everyday, as seen in the Atheist vs Everybody Else threads.

Mankind is much older than organized States. I'd go as far as to say that States didn't exist in the middle ages. There were warlords who swore fealty to other warlords, and warlords who had the fealty of many warlords had crowns and called themselves kings, but they didn't run their domains as ac actual State until they had the capability of overpowering the nobles on military grounds, and that was very late in History.

Prehistory is larger than History and I don't see cavemen building an organizing States but tribalistic arrangements.

Also, being dismissive of other people's opinions and telling them they believe in unicorns and fairyfarts is a textbook example on how to get people to hate you.

3: Point 3 actually IS true - even if it is unpleasant to confront.

I call fake on that one.

Maybe you are used to juridic security there in the US, but I am tired of watching the government change the rules every now and then and suddenly screw people at random.

I have seen tax agencies stomp people on bullshit charges they made up because they needed to fill a quota. You can fight those cases back with lawyers, but it is going to cost you time and money - so much that the fact you have to do it is a punishment in itself - and then the tax agency WILL take revenge on you next year. And the next. And the next.

We had a tax oficer who was involved in these activities around. Eventually they walked up to her in the fucking middle of the city and emptied a fucking gun in her fucking head. Good riddance, if you ask me.

Besides, do you know ALL and EVERY law that applies to you? The number of laws that apply to a given citizen are meassured in the tens or hundreds of thousands at a given time, and you can bet they don't know which rules they are subjected to. Tax agency above was suable into oblivion because their antipanic lights were illegal, for example, and nobody there knew. Fact is, under these circupstances, you can claim to be doing nothing wrong and be breaking enough rules to screw your year.

TL;DR:

1 - Corrupt public servants will screw you if it fits them whether you are doing something wrong or not, which negates "If you do nothing wrong you have nothing to fear."
2 - Chances are you are doing nothing wrong but you are doing something illegal, which sets you up for a bad surprise in case somebody who cares decides to screw you.

P.S: It used to be common that if you wanted to screw a redneck, you phoned the Town Hall and told them the guy didn't have his chicken/pig/cow license in order. They'd come and investigate and usually trash the guy because he didn't know he was supposed to have a chicken license.

I have been saying this since before it was mainstream.

I don't mind gays but I hate their activism.

Also, if you are familiar with activist circles, you know the strong groups (the ones who get funding, advertisement and such) are just puppets whose leaders work for money, getting their own paperwork solved earlier, and lots of goodies from the administration.

Heck even the local videogames group here was a puppet for the socialists. The lead did a lot of antifa public declarations in exchange for games and a place to use as a base for the group.

I don't mind gays but I hate their activism.

I'll bet 99% of the people you meet every day feel this way. Even among those who are gay.

Even among those who don't find it particularly wholesome, the attitude is "we don't approve of that but we also don't *hate* people on that basis."

As with a lot of things, a very small minority of activists took advantage of the virtue of most people to create conflict and acquire power. Now we have a tiny lobby of people who control what you can say, do, and think. And god forbid you get out of line, you will be destroyed.

Most of the LGB people I know do not want to be associated with that movement.
I only know one who is T and doesn't want to be grouped in with LGB for the same reason.

I have a relative who is L and does want to be part of the movement. She's a stupid cunt who doesn't deserve to have a voice.

i have a couple of 'friends' ( loosely used term ) that are activist-leaning, but ironically they are straight.   "Give them rights!!"  while my non straight friends are mostly "shut up you are causing us problems".

When i grew up there were no letters. you were either straight, gay, or somewhere in between and didnt need 50 labels to make you feel good.  And no one cared.  Perhaps the generation before me, it was different. but myself, no one cared what you were and no one shoved it in your face either.

[Reply] [ReplyQuoted] [Headers] [Print]

i guess Trump pretty much said hes running in 2024, without actually saying it.   ( on Hannity )  Not sure why he is waiting. I suppose perhaps he's waiting for more collapse before he does? Less effort to win even more people over when we are on fire? Or some strategy i'm hot thinking of?

Speaking of on fire, i cant imagine the chaos the day after he does announce. They are going to literally burn the rest of country to the ground if they can ( like they started to do, as i predicted day one ) and ramp up the punishment from his first term.  "how dare  you elect him"

Who is going to be VP...  Gaetz or DeSantis?

( not so sure Biden will be around tho at the rate hes declining. But they will have a replacement setup by then )
