Interesting. the tommies tried out which MTB has advantages...  26", 27,5", 29"

Aside that the wheel sizes the riders are more trained with seem to deliver better performance..

http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/article/how-does-mountain-bike-wheel-size-really-affect-performance-43481/

In my case, I prefer 28" on a cyclocrosser - which i'm clearly faster with than the 26" MTB

Somehow survived a 5-day ski touring trip to the Adirondacks; complete with heated cabin backpacking etc.

I was yelling in the car last night "I don't want to go back to work."
