Shots ring out outside an anti-gun-violence concert.

Westcott Theater concertgoers attending an event against gun violence spilled out into the streets around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, and gunshots echoed down the high-pedestrian-traffic Westcott Street minutes later.

Doctors warn women against putting wasp nests in their vaginas

To all the women of Uncensored, I beg of you, no matter how appealing it might sound, please do not put a wasp nest in your naughty bits.

Ouch. Ok so the nest and wasps are ground up first, but it's still cringeworthy.
I suppose they expect the same mild toxicity effect that makes botulism (aka Botox) work.

Of course, I'm sure most of us have a list of people who we think really ought to try it ... but with live wasps, of course.

It's frightening to think of the things one may put in their vagina.

I'd read that article before. I lack that bit of anatomy, but I wouldn't imagine stuffing anything like that there.

I could imagine a haunting, though. Maybe a wasp-haunting of one's vagina, ghostly stings on the penises of unwary men who disturb their nest. Heh.

It's so versatile you can put almost anything in it. With ... widely variable results.

Poop transplants,

That is really all that you need to know, with that information you are going to follow the link or you will not follow the link.  The full headline is:
Poop transplants work as well as antibiotics for severe diarrhea
A small and unusual study suggests that doctors should try fecal transplants right off when patients in the hospital get infected with Clostridium difficile.

Oh, yeah, I read about that some time ago.

It has to do with probiotics. Your digestive tract is basically composed of more than just you. It has its own flora and fauna that helps break down foods and remove them.

But, it's a balancing act. And if anything there gets out of balance, unpleasantries develop.

I think I slowly killed off most of the good stuff in my tract over the years, which lead to some subtle health problems (nothing as obvious as the diarrhea cited in the article). Mostly certain chemical imbalances that you can't really see or feel, but can be noticed in blood work. I started eating yogurt at the end of the day, hoping to help correct the problem (while also modifying my diet significantly to encourage better biotics).

But... other people's poop... I'm not that far gone.

Intestinal flora are constantly being replenished by "good bacteria" in the food you eat.  It's one reason why we are encouraged to eat things like yogurt after we've been exposed to gut-cleansing antibiotics.

It also seems, however, that the pop-sci phrase "poop transplant" is deliberately hyperbolized.  It sounds like they just take poop out of one person and stuff it back into another.  According to the article it's actually a bacterial culture that was derived from those found in human feces, cultured over a period of time in a lab, and placed into enemas for delivery to patients.

This is usually where I add some sort of smart-ass remark but I can't think of one at the moment.
