How are you doing? I'm doing a little catching up...
I donno, for a person that isn't fond of all the gatherings and stuff, having a an 'excuse' that wont piss family off, is a good thing.

I was about to say just that.
I can't stand most of my family, so any pandemic that prevents me from having to stand them is worth it, no matter how many millions die.
Oh, i like my family well enough and do visit them often, its just that i dont like formal gatherings.

My siblings and I are close - I haven't seen my brothers since June when our uncle died.
I really miss them. Fortunately, my parents, aunt, brothers, and sisters-in-law have had the first dose of the vaccine.
My sister and I are waiting our turn (likely another 2-3 weeks)
It'll be so nice to be able to hug everyone again!
There is only one human I wan at hugging distance. Horses and dogs are welcome to the hugging zone, however.
Everyone thinks I'm an extrovert. I like the convenience of a society - but I'd be fine in a Yurt with 200 miles of rugged, unpaved Montana between me and the next human in every direction - for a long time.
I like my immediate family - and I mean *immediate* - but, I'd even do OK all alone.
Social isolation has been wonderful. I don't have to hang out with people I don't care about and fake being interested in their lives, as often.

i second that, or i guess 'third' it. technically.
Too bad it looks like its coming to an end soon, i suspect springtime. Now that the 'political need' for it has passed.

I dont have that luxury, if the office says 'we all go back' i have to go back. I'm not independently wealthy, not old enough to retire so i still have to work for a living.
Of course some teams got sent home to work permanent. Few of us really need to be there.
Fri Feb 05 2021 06:48:14 EST from nonservatorI plan on continuing just as I have, more isolated than ever.
We went to a trendy nightclub/restaurant this weekend in downtown Chandler. It looked like Downtown Reno or the Old Las Vegas strip, it was so crowded. The kind of place you go to not be able to hear the person across the table from you, while eating gastro-pub food served by vapid Millennial waitresses before they become Jr. Congresswomen - but it is really an excuse to get shitfaced on Microbrews and cocktails.
I told my wife, "I liked coming down here more when everyone was home afraid."
