Happy special woman's day, I think it is terrific you girls have a special day for all the little things you do.
Today is actually a special day.
Today, UNCENSORED! celebrates 29 years of continuous operation, happily serving out generous portions of car fires, uncooked macaroni, and some of the hippest grooves this side of the web for all these years.
It has been, and continues to be, a pleasure to provide this service to most of you. (Except for the people who come here and post requests for Citadel software support in the Lobby instead of in the Citadel Support room. Those people can go fuck themselves.)
Thanks for being part of this legendary community.

- Greetings, fellow-members of Uncensored.
- Is this room an appropriate place for a newbie to post basic questions?
- (If the answer to 2. is "Yes",) Is there a favored term for members of Uncensored? (Uncensoredians? Uncensoredites? Members-of-Uncensored? ...)
- Is there a way to search all rooms for posts containing keywords?
Welcome aboard and die in a car fire! This is as good a place as any to ask
questions about Uncensored itself (this online community). If you're looking
for help installing/running the Citadel server software, though, you can take
that to the Citadel Support room.
Thanks for the flaming warm welcome.
I've enjoyed reading through the rooms, ... but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Is there a way to mark as read old posts in a room all at once without having to "N" through each unread post?
... Can the Calendar, Tasks, and Notes rooms be accessed when connected via ssh, or only via WebCit?
... Are messages entered in Chat visible only to other users in the same room who are also in the Chat application? Is there a customary way to invite other users into Chat?

Yes, actually, when you <G>oto out of a room, it marks everything in that
room as having been read. (If you want to bypass that behavior, use the <S>kip
command instead.)
As for chat, yes that is correct, you will only be chatting with other users in the same room. We don't actually do much of that here, but if you want to invite someone to a chat you could send them an instant message (using the <P>age user command).
The text mode client is really geared more towards BBS type users rather than groupware type users, so we haven't implemented the Calendar, Tasks, Contacts, and Notes views in the text mode client. You're not the first to ask, though :)

Thank you.
Is there a way to search through old posts for keywords, for example if I wanted to read all past posts that mentioned "car fire"? In more than one, or all, rooms?

You know you've been using Citadel too long when you accidentally type ".tq"
to close a shell window.
I can't imagine having a shell so primitive that it doesn't understand that
command.
For that matter, I can't imagine memorizing that command because you don't really ever want to log out of Citadel :)

I try not to use such crutches though, because when you become dependent on
them, and you move to another person's computer, you're left feeling naked
and alone in a hostile wilderness. :)
