And it seems Ander hasn't returned since Oct 7. I hope he comes back.
Maybe we should'a told him he wasn't expected to *actually* die in a car fire...
Where did the die in a car fire meme originate anyway?
On a side note, my father did actually die in a car fire.. so, die in a car fire!

fleeb- I meant, what was the story behind it?
As far as memes go, I've always been a fan of fark.com's "UFIA." That one never gets old.

During one of the many periods when Grelf dwelled among us (he'll be back;
it goes in cycles dontcha know) we were having a particularly heavy influx
of new visitors to the site, and anyone who introduced themselves was greeted
with a chorus of welcomes. Grelf invited the newbies to "die in a car fire"
as a contrast to all of the happy, chipper welcomes.
And now it's the standard welcome. Die in a car fire!
And now it's the standard welcome. Die in a car fire!
(But yes, it *is* a meme, and it should go without saying that our sympathy
goes out to anyone who's *actually* been through that type of experience.)
Wow.. I vanish for so long that my account gets purged.. and THIS is the topic? Amazing.
To whom it may concern, the aforementioned grelf was not a funny person. He was, and probably still is, a total asshole. With any luck, he's being dragged under a bus somewhere. If you feel that you are in some way clueless because you don't get the joke of "die in a car fire", you can stop worrying now.
