LOL
Rules for thee, but not for me. Serfs. Get back to work!

"News of HC6lzle's relocation especially stung because he has been particularly vocal against remote work, employees said"
Classical corporate leadership assholeism. I wonder why this is even news.
Lots of IT seem to be bent on denying work from home positions for some reason I cannto understand. Some big firms I know off have had most of their employees asking for work from home policies since BEFORE the pandemic.
What is wrong with that?

Nothing, in fact I think it is awesome.

I'd use carrier pigeons if I had to. However, Silicon Valley has long passed the point where they contribute anything of value to Western civilization.
of course that analog modem is being converted to digital along the way :)
I assume the carriers are not blocking anyway.. not hard to detect a modem
Again, it's a false dichotomy. Choose between destroying Gates or Page/Brin, or choose between destroying Microsoft or Google.
If we're eliminating a founder, I'd choose Gates, no doubt about it. If we're eliminating an entire company, Google would be a far more worthwhile kill, because Microsoft isn't nearly the threat they used to be.
Remember though, that whoever ended up on top would be the most evil anyway. Wealth and power attract evil people.

Consider yourself thumbed up.
Wait, does that count as an insult in this place?
I'd argue that the evil committed by the wealthy and powerful just tends to be more vivid.
The vast majority of evil, by definition, in the world - is caused by the lower 98% of the population, in much the same way that insects represent far more biomass on Earth than all of humanity.
And the science backs this up. The LOWER you are in that bottom 98% - the more likely you are to be involved in criminal activity. Violence, drugs, sexual exploitation and abuse, theft, fraud... the lower economic levels of society globally are far more engaged in the majority of EVIL than the 1%.
But you just very rarely see it.

OOOOHH! Google has been found guilty in some sort of class action lawsuit regarding privacy and Google Plus profiles.
As a member of the class action, I have been awarded $2.15 !
Yes, but sleep well knowing that a group of attorneys made millions getting you that $2.15.

I was ( unwillingly ) part of a class action like that.
Company i worked for, the board ran a scam on the IPO, made millions then went bankrupt 6 months later. They pocketed millions. As they had been around since the dark ages, we all bought stock when we were given the chance just before IPO.
Fast forward 15 years i get a letter in the mail "class action, the board is now in prison, we won the suit and you are entitled to get get a refund for your stock purchase, if you have your *original* sales receipt. All unclaimed proceeds by default go to the attorneys who represented you in court" "oh, and you have 7 days to comply"
So we got screwed twice.

That makes sense. Google wronged you, so you're entitled to a free tracking device.
Exactly.

At this point they ought to be giving the hardware and bandwidth away in exchange for the tracking data.
YouTube's "free with ads" movies are nice, if you have an ad blocker :)
I hope they put on more of them.
Son in law pays for 'youtube tv'.
Was over there a couple of months go, couldn't find one thing interesting, to me.
