I know my attitudes clanged soon after i left home.. Not all of them, some i only realized i was using the wrong label all along trying to 'fit in'. But some did.
Mon Feb 22 2021 12:58:14 EST from ParanoidDelusionsThat is the most fscking annoying part of Millennials. So many of them love to lecture and explain - and in so many cases it is all *theory* with little or no real-world experience or application.
They're very book-read on their philosophies and theories. They're well researched in Wikipedia articles on how they believe things should work.
But they're sorely lacking in actual experience.
Sat Feb 20 2021 10:55:18 EST from Nurb432I think that is a key, regardless of who is forcing their belief structure onto you.

Hello.
I have found more stuff about the deplatforming attempt against Baen books.
https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/02/the-attempted-deplatforming-you-probably
-never-heard-of-baen-books-forum/
Long story short: the woke crowd is storming service providers with messages in order for them to kick them out of the web, and service providers are playing along (which is why Baen closed the forum).
Also it seems like the Chief editor has been banned from a big Sci-Fi convention as a result of all the wokeness.
I never imagined I would be ever defending this people, but I hope Baen takes advantage of all the free advertising they are getting and start selling books like hot cakes.

It is not that I dislike the speech they may have or not as much as the fact I hve some personal grudges with Baen employees.
Somebody has brought this subject up:
http://matthewhopkinsnews.com/?p=7682
This guy is trying to conduct a cancel campaign against the guy who started the cancel campaign against Baen, allegating the guy who started the war has ugly writings regarding child S&M.
Popcorn is served.
So, I like you guys - but I'm so hostile towards humanity in general lately - that every time I give social media a shot - someone or something pisses me off so bad that I go, "just let Yellowstone erupt... and erupt GOOD..."
So bad that Arizona is covered in 20 feet of ash 2 days later.
This planet needs an enema.
I think it is an 80/20 rule. 20% of the worlds population is carrying the other 80%.
I used to think it was just the workplace - but I think this is a universal sacred math. Kind of like how dark-matter makes up the majority of the mass in the universe. The empty and void is 80% of the universe.
I guess that means it must be important in its uselessness from the perspective of a taoist. It gives the meaningful definition. It takes a lot of useless to make the useful appreciated - kind of like how you have to eat a freezerburned Chuck E Cheese or Costco pizza every now and then to truly appreciate a good pie.
Mon Mar 08 2021 13:37:39 EST from IGnatius T FoobarDouglas Adams once wrote about an entire useless third of the world's population being rounded up and shipped off to some other planet. He envisioned it being people like telephone sanitizers, but I think we all know now that it would be the SJW mob and the entire chattering class.
But yeah, bring on the end of the world. Or as I like to say it, "Get me off this rock."
Being born in Chicago, and Midwest living since the late 70s, i'm partial to Chicago deep dish.
its a regular meal in this house, but i'm over due on making one until i get the fridge fixed as place to store the leftovers, other than the freezer. Freezing pizza, is only a last resort.

This thread is important for those who follow free-speech issues, but more than that, freedom of conscience.
https://twitter.com/bariweiss/status/1370196097918853124
tl;dr: a biracial, Las Vegas kid refuses to go-along-to-get-along with an intersectional, critical-race-theory curriculum. In Bari Weiss' words, "William Clark is not privileged by any stretch of the imagination. Quite the opposite. But that's now how his school, a public charter in Las Vegas, sees it."
For those who have blocked Twitter for whatever (probably valid) reason, the court docket is here: https://www.fairforall.org/gabrielle/schoolhouserights-org-nevada-complaint_compressed.pdf
I've been to Chicago and NYC a number of times - had real Chicago Dogs, real Chicago Deep Dish, real NY style "By the Slice."
Interesting fact - so many NYC and Chicago transplants in Phoenix - we have almost all of your "favorite" restaurants here, already.
Sacramento is also famous for a Chicago Deep Dish place called Zelda's that is the real deal.
Regional favorites are almost always a real emotional thing, that has more to do with being from the place than how "best" the item is or isn't - in my experience.
Cincinnati Chili and Spaghetti are an example... so are "hoagies"
These days, you can get Vienna Beef dogs anywhere now, and the peppers, celery salt, tomatoes... it isn't hard to recreate. When I had my first one in Ohio, I wasn't impressed, and people swore, "you have to have one in Chicago."
I've had one in a little hole in the wall shack on the loop - had several, actually. I honestly prefer a Weinerschnitzle Chili Cheese dog, and not a beef one, an original pork one - as the "best" hotdog.
And I think Hebrew National are better beef dogs than Vienna. We did blind taste tests with both - and people overwhelmingly picked Hebrew National when they didn't know.
The best Philly Cheesesteak I ever had was a place in Sacramento in a strip mall. I've had them all over Philadelphia - and none of them have matched how good THAT place made 'em. Best Gyros were a place called Papa Gyros in Canton/Akron.
But I have no *emotional* ties to these foods. I'm pretty damn loyal to In-N-Out and The Habit - and think Smashburger, Whattaburger, Shakeshack and 5 Guys aren't even close. But a lot of people disagree with me on that.
Food opinions are a weird thing - because there is a huge emotional part going on that people don't really consciously realize.
My wife thinks a place called Dewar's in Bakersfield is the BEST ice cream shop in the world. I think it is a place called Vic's in Sacramento. The Sugar Bowl, from "Family Circus" is actually in Scottsdale - and they're all cut from the same cloth - but Vic's will always be better than the other two to me. The other two are good. Vic's is better. :)

I have good news.
Baen's Forums are back with a vengenance.
The chief editor has reopened the forum stating that, after doing research, they have found no activity in the forum that could be considered illegal. She has also stated, in elegant terms, that the SJW crowd can fuck off.
That is awesome. But the SJW mob being able to shut down the forums and force such a cautious, careful and complete inventory of the contents of those forums is troubling.
The SJW Left understands that they don't have to shut you down for a legitimate reason - they just have to tie you up so you can't be an effective voice against their own droning babble.
In a sense, sanity is fighting with one hand tied behind its back in this regard.
I started noticing this a few years back when demanding "source citations" on the Internet became a huge thing. They didn't want the source citation. They knew by the time you were done researching the obscure point you had just made using Google, you would show back up and the conversation would have moved on, making your citation moot and irrelevant.
Not to mention they could go, "The best you could do is a citation from BLABLABLA news? They're not credible!"
It is part of the intellectual dishonesty and sophistry of the far Left.
