PSA:  When you see a blemish/overstock sale at close to 2/3 off on an assembled upper..  before you pounce, be sure you actually look at the length...  Or you end up with 'yet another pistol' that you cant put a stock on, instead of ending up with a rile like was the intent.. A couple of inches either way makes a world of difference ( i know, "that's what she said" )

( well short of paying a tax...blowing the savings you just got )

Grrrr.

90 day pause on export of non-governmental ammo, many firearms and many parts.

Umm. wth.. not saying i agree or disagree on the face of it since its so out of the blue and unexpected.. ( and its our government... cant trust them ) .. but this is really really odd.

So was at Kroger this afternoon ( mid-west grocery chain ).  Sort of busy, but not terrible. And of course i dont mind this at all, and think its a good thing, but its not common here so i noticed. I would say 2/3 of the male customers were open carry. Times are changing.

Interesting. The Krogers near me have "No Beretta 92s" signs by the front door. That's why I only carry Glock when I go there.

lol

Local Walmart did have a sign for a while " While we support your 2nd amendment rights, we request that you do not open carry in our stores"  So they tried to meet you 1/2 way.. and it was not 'DONT, it was please dont"

I dont go to Walmart often, perhaps 3x a year ( they used to be the only store in area that had banana twins... and now only store that has a candy bag i want ). .but last time i was there the sign was gone.

I guess SCOTUS has decided to take up the bumpstock case 'next session' ( whenever that is..  Like politicians, a bunch of lazy asses, work a few months, get full pay .. )

In theory this goes beyond the obvious that bump stocks are not machine guns by the very definition ( tho machine guns are protected too. but another discussion ), but that executive orders cant trample on our rights.  Even laws cant, but at least the executive branch has to at least try to go thru congress and not make up infringing nonsense on a whim.

So federal appeals says we dont get to have AR-15s, as they are not covered by the 2nd.   Of course they are ignoring Bruen decision.  SCOTUS has no real teeth to enforce their rulings. One thing the founders didnt think of.

I think they did think of it. Ironically, it's the militia. The problem is that our society doesn't have the fortitude to do their part. The founders warned about that, too.

A National injunction on brace rule enforcement.

Still not struck down but at least the right direction ( again )

and i guess later today, the nonsense frame and receiver ruling was also shut down. I dont think a injunction this time but a smack down. Of course it will be appealed. but still, the right direction.

Not read the ruling so this may be a bit off and putting words in his mouth, but supposedly a federal judge in ruling on a new 3 day waiting period, says "while you have a right to keep and bare, there is no stated right for purchasing"..

one reference ( normally hes right, and keeps spin out ) -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3alvAul5xk

I didn't read it nor watch the video, but arguments like that can never stand. Of course "right to bare" implies a right to acquire. This is the sort of argument I'd expect to hear from a high school level debater. That a federal judge is trying to make it means we've got to be close to the end here.

Of course not, but with the corrupt system we have now, they can still be enacted by many states, enforced, and unless SCOTUS accepts the case ( they dont have to remember. one of the flaws i think in our founding ), it wont get struck down. Assuming DNC does not get to pack SCOTUS first... Surprised that fell of the radar  ( lower courts have shown they are in on the deal, so it takes SCOTUS these days to do the job.. )

And even knowing the chances of it failing, someday, if they can make it stick it long enough, then the next generation is effectually disarmed, and good luck getting it back. It also sets up for 'compromise'  where they agree to roll it back a little..  ( which i know is crap its only 'for now' and they continue on pushing the line, on everything, but its how they operate, shoot for moon, get orbit.. then move it little by little until you get to the moon  ) As Ronald said, it only takes one generation for it to all go off the rails.   ( ok, my version, but same point )
