No personal insider knowledge but i have heard the same.
At the rate they are going with wokeness, they wont need guns anyway
here soon.Mon Mar 06 2023 09:54:29 PM EST from zelgomer
Is there anything to these rumblings I'm hearing about .mil
walking away from the XM5-renamed-XM7?
By the way, on the subject of silencers. Can you imagine how loud this .277 fury must be? 80,000 psi. Good lord, and I thought my AR-15 was obnoxious.
And dont forget the tax on top of that. ( 300, if i remember right, but i could be wrong )
The NFA registry also gives them the right to inspect your stuff at any time they want. ( well registered items anyway ). Mass register ( and future funds ) was the entire point of the pistol brace move, not to really get rid of them. They figured most people would just resister them, increasing their list. Its why there was the 'free amnesty period'.
Tue Mar 07 2023 09:15:45 PM EST from zelgomerI was staying strictly within the ATF 'rules', in that they are not
banned.. just $ ( unconstitutional rules, but tell that to
the judge.. )
And because of that, the price of the suppressors themselves are grossly inflated. Some of the suppressors I'd like to have cost more than what I've paid for any gun!
But I think the biggest deterrent for me is just the unconstitutionality of it and the registry. Yeah yeah I'm on a list anyway because of various back door methods. But it still doesn't sit well with me.
Back when i practiced a lot i was considering getting as suppressor, for my ears. But, no one else in the place has one either, so I didnt bother with it and just lived with muffs. If i was out in the boonies again and could shoot outside in the back yard again, i would reconsider.
And unrelated: i typoed 'reconsider', browser suggestion, since i was too lazy to fix it, was cisgender. Dammit google!

( i dont remember luty documenting suppressors, and his books are on
open net, and you can still buy them too )
I am not sure it was a book from Luty, but he had one in his site with the classical design with the cocacola bottle.
Reason is i have all his books, and dont remember it being there.

The tax is $200.
I've heard about this right to inspect stuff before, but I haven't been able to determine how true it is. It kind of sets off my B.S. detector. But if it is true, then that's a hard absolutely no way in hell for me, and it should be for anyone else, too.
i was close :)
I asked an attorney friend of mine, he said no, only FFLs have to show their stuff if asked. I thought it applied to NFA across the board, i guess i was wrong.
They can come to your house and ask, but you can turn them way ( if they have no warrant ).

Cool, thanks for asking! That makes more sense, and I'm glad to finally have a sane answer there because I've always wondered.
Looks like PM80 can sell kits again..
Not that i want one, but score one for freedom, and the Constitution.

I might pick up one or eight if I could pay cash.
Yes. We are to that point. The moral high ground at this point only
gets you buried, and your side loses the war. So what did you
accomplish by being 'the better person'? Nothing.
An increasing number of people are feeling that way lately.
The bad guys are systematically eliminating all of the high-ground options to remove them from power.
They will have to be eliminated by playing dirty. And it might lead to violence against them.
More likely, to us instead. Preemptive.

Remove warning labels, let nature sort it out.
Mon May 15 2023 22:47:07 EDT from IGnatius T FoobarI sometimes get in trouble for saying that people who are in favor of gun control laws should be shot. So instead I will say that people who do not understand hyperbole should be shot.
Temporary injunction on pistol brace rule today.
Not technically a win, but a pause for more time to deal with it in the courts isn't a loss either.
So the liberal failure of a mayor in Indy, wants to go against state law, and ban ALL semi-auto rifles within the county ( yes. really.. ).. no concealed carry permitted, recend constitutional carry..
All illegal to do as state law trumps city law here. All because hes let crime run amok for so long and the city is collapsing and FINALLY he's getting blame. Now, lets punish the citizens more.
Good thing i dont live in the county, as i would not by end of summer. if i couldn't sell my house, id burn it to the ground. And i refuse to spend a dime up there. Not even for gas.
Due to being comically vague, clarification was requested from the court and apparently its only for customers of the plaintiffs. not everyone.
So perhaps 1/10th of the owners of these things.
