Maybe it's a part of a general organized attempt to corrupt open source ideals with corporatism.
Have you seen the body of folks on the boards of these organizations now?
He has been "resigned" because of that declaration. He is no longer
the president of the Free Software Foundation.
I agree with the others here who attest that it "is not news" that RMS is off his rocker. That's been the case for a long time. The only thing that's so surprising is that MIT continued to subsidize his existence for so long.
Some of the articles covering the current event are describing him as a "computer scientist". That may have been true in the 1980s, when his research was producing useful tools such as gcc. But all he's done in the decades since then is just ... rant. He has, at best, some sort of medium-functioning ASD, or at worst, bona fide mental illness.
In retrospect it was probably only a matter of time before he pissed off the wrong people. What he said was pretty brain damaged, but as a free speech advocate I don't believe that even the worst offenses should justify having your life destroyed by the wrongthink police.
That having been said, I won't miss him, and I do hope he exits from public life completely. I'd like to see the FSF style of crispy fundamentalism fade into the past and those efforts folded into the mainstream of open source.
I also hope that the world can chill out a bit in this area. But I don't see that likely to happen in any mode other than in cancel culture getting so bad that it eventually implodes.

Those orgs only have as much power as we let them have. That's one of open source's superpowers. If a steering organization gets out of control, we can still kick them to the curb. We've seen this happen many times in the past, and it's a great safety valve.
When it comes to board members, I'd rather have Satya Nadella than Corey Ehmke.

Definitely seems like ASD, and not of the highest-functioning variety.

Kind of ironic that you put up a BBS and you get tons of traffic you
don't want - and little of the traffic you do want.
This says something about society, about how the Internet turned out.
Everybody is hiding inside of Facebook. It is kind of like a
dystopian story where there are fortress cities surrounded by great
barren wastelands.

You've picked a terrible time to start a Citadel only accessible by
TOR.
The ones with static DNS addresses on the public Internet are
struggling to get users to post content.
Forget to add text?
I had a weird account come through, that was quoting messages without adding any content, in a couple of rooms, recently.
Either someone is knocking on doors and testing for broken locks...
Or someone is struggling with figuring out how Citadel works.

If you are getting it too, i bet someone is testing.. looking for vulnerabilities. Id check for extra HTML added in the messages from the originals.
Yup.

Ah yes, the good old fork bomb. Decades ago I used it to bring down a university computer operated by people who totally deserved it.
So, how do I enter a new paragraph if entering twice exits?
I enter a blank line between paragraphs by hitting the carriage return twice so that it prompts you to enter a command, and then I enter 'c' to continue.
To skip a line, simply enter a single space on the blank line. Then indent the beginning of the next line with at least one space.
This is basic Citadel 101, all the way back, too.
You can also press SHIFT ENTER twice to get a blank line, just like on Facebook.
Just tested that.

But yes, your test was successful, and you have posted a message! Congratulations!
