Thirst in a glass! ;)
Right - lets spend the kity here!! <rumages in the glass, pulling out IOU's and pocket fluff> OK a glass of the best house water for each of you tight fists!!!!
<finds a thousand dollar bill in the glass :D and orders each (friend of Citadel) person in the bar their favourite drink (3 cokes , 5 milkshakes and 3 cups of coffee all with a shot of vodka --- coming up )
Any friend of Citadel is a friend of mo, and any friend of mo is a friend of mine. Just because.
And I suspect the pub culture on your side of the pond is a lot better than ours.
Pub quiz!
What are your three favorite sandwiches?
(Mine are: fresh Thanksgiving turkey on toast with lettuce and mayonnaise; chicken cutlet on a sesame seed roll with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise; and gyro on pita.)
Grilled cheese with preserves (jelly) on top.
BLT - no need to explain
Club - turkey with some bacon preferred. Toasted. Not too smothered with mayo, but a little bit helps it out nicely.
I suppose the BLT and the club are pretty much the same sandwich. Swap out the mayo with some guac, and the club is still a winner with me.
Ohhh! Tough one!!
It's gotta be either:
Cheese and onion
or
Ham and pickle
:D
yeah our pub culture is well advanced
(about as advanced as you can get-- it's dead!! :D , actually not true, but most of the pubs i used to frequent are closed now (leaving only the better up-market country pubs and "gastro pubs" alive and well))
I am not big on samiches, doesn't matter if a woman makes them or not.
Falafel sandwich. Lamb souvlaki (middle eastern theme) or an Italian sub. Steak sandwichs made with the proper GPS are good but I don't eat those often.
.
GPS is teh r0x0r.

So much, in fact, that I now keep a shaker of garlic powder in the primary location behind my stove along with the salt and pepper.
Sandwiches for everyone! (BLT or Bacon Sarnie, depending on which side of the pond you're on. Plate of bean sprouts for the vegetarians, I guess.)
What was the correct mixture? G5P3S2? I remember some confusion, I think I switched the pepper and salt ratio.
A bacon sandwich (Bacon Buttie ;) ) - this side of the pond, is never adulterated with lettuce or tomatoes :( .
White bread, (the cheap stuff, sliced or thick cut from loaf), sometimes toasted, butter, bacon rashers: thats it -- stop.
A greasy sandwich for a greasy world . Now adulterate with, tomato sauce (ketchup), or brown sauce (HP/Daddies/US equivalent unknown :) ).
Unhealthy living at it's finest!
A BLT is a BLT the world over i suspect. Mostly made using a French stick/small baguette.
Breakfast in a bun is hard to beat also. Combining the greasy chic of a bacon 'sarnie' (sandwich), with the delight of a baguette: consisting of your classic English breakfast ingredients all in your messy hand. (eggs, bacon, and sausages sometimes with mushrooms packed into a torpedo style roll/or an actual real baguette). Found at all your most reputable roadside trailer burger vans in England. :P
That will sort your hangover (out).

Appologies for the top posting, 'and' the wrong quoteed message. I don't know what happened there, i was replying-quoting IG's message about a bacon sandwich.
In any case, it's pretty hard to argue with bacon, no matter how it's served.
BACON!
Lately I have been chopping up bacon, peppers, onions and mushrooms and letting that cook down. When it is ready I throw in some blue cheese, let it get melty and put it on top of a rare cooked hamburger. Fantastic.
Melty is a word, I heard Paul Dean use it.
The only people that should cook and eat beef well done is vegetarians.
It is facebook, or should I say fakebook?

I don't know anyone who puts "red sauce" (ketchup) on a bacon sandwich.
Then again, on our side of the pond, we use a different kind of bacon, and serve it on a different kind of bread, with lettuce tomato and mayonnaise.
At some point I'm going to have to try Hewlett-Packard Sauce to see if it is, as has been suggested, similar to our "steak sauce"
Where can i get this "steak sauce", to compare?
Obviously this is HP sauce
https://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-Sauce/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3AHP%20Sauce
... your 4.5 kg bottle of it is here - if you become a fan-- or open a chain or 'greasy spoons' nationwide :)
STEAK SAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???? :p

Popular brands in the US are Lea & Perrins, Heinz 57, and A1.
Wikipedophilia claims that American steak sauce is, in fact, derived from British brown sauce.
Of course, right now if I want a steak I have to clear the snow off my grill.
